Lucha Underground - Episode #001 - 10/29/14 Following the intro video, the cameras pan over to the commentators table where Matt Striker and Vampiro welcome everyone to the show. They talk about how the Lucha Revolution has taken over the United State and it starts right here at "The Temple" The cameras turn to the ring where ring announcer, Melissa Santos introduces the owner of Lucha Underground, Dario Cueto. Cueto makes his way down to the ring with three men and once inside, he introduces his entourage as Big Ryck, Homicide and Hernandez. Dario grins as he says that powerful men need a powerful entourage around them in reference to the men in the ring. He then welcomes everybody to Lucha Underground and opens a briefcase to reveal the Lucha Underground Championship. Dario says that this championship breaks great power, and great respect, and because of that, he's not going to just make a random match for the first episode to declare a champion. He continues and says that in nine episodes time, a championship match will take place, but until then, the belt will remain at ringside, as a goal for the luchadores to reach for. Cueto then says to give everyone's taste buds just a small example of what to expect from Lucha Underground, he has put together an amazing contest to kick things off.
Lucha Uno) Drago defeats Fenix, and Pentagon Jr via pinfall. In what was probably the fastest pace match to kick of a new Pro Wrestling show, Drago, Pentagon Jr, and Fenix put on an incredible, high flying showcase that had the fans inside the temple standing on their feet. At points during the match, all three men played up to the fact the Lucha Underground Championship was indeed sitting on a throne of sorts at ringside. The finish to the match arrived with Fenix diving over the ropes yet again, taking out Pentagon Jr on the outside with a corkscrew plancha. Fenix would roll in to the ring and charge at Drago only for the Dragon masked luchadore to duck under a spinning kick attempt, rebound do the ropes and plant Fenix with a devastating running front flip DDT. Drago hooked the leg and picked up the victory.
A video plays taking a look at the two men in tonight's main event lucha, highlighting the careers of Alberto El Patron and the legendary Blue Demon Jr. Both men talk about having a great deal of respect for each other, but tonight is about impressing and becoming one step closer to being crowned the very first Lucha Underground Champion.
Another video plays giving us a brief backstory on Mil Muertes and his girlfriend, Catrina. The video ends saying that Muertes will debut next week on Lucha Underground.
Lucha Dos) Johnny Mundo, Prince Puma & Chavo Guerrero Jr defeat. Son of Havoc, Jack Evans, and Cisne del Vuelo via pinfall. Pretty big trios match here as the super team of sorts with the former John Morrison teaming up with Konnan's new protoge, Prince Puma, and the representation of the legendary Guerrero family, Chavo Guerrero Jr, to take on Son of Havok who had Ivelisse at ringside with him, Cisne del Vuelo, and early 00's sensation, Jack Evans. Evans showed the most character in the match and had a video playing his entrance where he introduced himself as "The creator of Modern Lucha" and claimed that many luchadores owe him royalties for the moves they have stolen from him. A fun back n forth match that saw a really cool spot with Johnny Mundo failing to connect with the Flying Chuck kick, only for Cisne del Vuelo to connecting with a handspring off the ropes, in to a Cutter. This wasn't enough to finish the match however and the ending eventually arrived with Chavo Guerrero Jr dropping the legendary Frog Splash on Son of Havoc to pick up the victory for his team.
A video plays highlighting the career of Sexy Star. Star says that Lucha is not just for the men, and that she's here to prove she's just as good if not better than them, and that she's not only going to be the first Lucha Underground Champion, but also the first woman to hold a promotions world title.
The cameras turn to the back where Konnan is with his protoge, Prince Puma. Konnan tells Puma that he done well tonight but he must always have eyes in the back of his head and not to trust Johnny Mundo or Chavo Guerrero Jr. Konnan claims that Mundo's 15 minutes of fame has went to his head, and the Guerrero family have always been greedy and only cared about themselves. Puma listens to his mentor and Konnan leaves telling Puma to hit the gym. When Konnan has left, the "Inventor of Modern Lucha" Jack Evans appears on screen, ambushing Puma from behind, and sending him crashing in to the wall. Evans laughs as he gets down to Puma's face and tells him that he should listen to his mentor, and that he shouldn't trust anyone.
Evento Principal) Alberto El Patron vs Blue Demon Jr went to a no contest. This was definitely a big money match to main event the very first episode of Lucha Underground as the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Alberto El Patron took on probably the most legendary name in modern lucha, Blue Demon Jr. The two men shook hands before the bell, before both men stared at the Lucha Underground Championship. Unlike the previous two matches, this showcased that Lucha Underground will also feature strong technical wrestling and won't always be about the high flying flips. After several near falls and a really good back n forth encounter, it seemed to be over as El Patron hit the corner assisted Enzaguri, staggering Blue Demon Jr to the middle of the ring where Del Rio would lock in the Twisting Arm Bar. Blue Demon Jr looked as if he had no choice but to tap out, but "The Entourage" hit the ring and attacked both men. The match was called off as the beat down on the top stars continued, with Hernandez dropping Alberto with the Border Toss as Big Ryck slammed Blue Demon Jr with an Over the shoulder running powerslam. Lucha Underground owner, Dario Cueto got in to the ring and told everyone "This is what happens when you think you're bigger than Lucha Underground. This is what happens when you think you're bigger than Dario Cueto. I have all the power, I can make you, or I can break you. Welcome to the temple!"

It's episode one but you already begin making this unique, which I'm a fan of. I was never a fan of Hernandez save for his LAX days so I'm glad Homicide is paired with him, and I like the idea of them and Big Ryck being Dario's hired guns. Makes his presence more powerful and gives more credibility to him than The Crew from real life. The opening promo was solid and I dig that the belt will be at ringside until episode ten. The opening lucha was true to real life and I'm happy it happens here. I like Drago more than Fenix so I'm glad he won; just don't shortchange Pentagon. He's money. I like the DDT finish better than Drago's roll up too. Excited for the debut of Mil Muertes. Pretty interesting teams with Chavo on the side of Puma and Johnny Mundo. Pretty cool match and the right team won; I'm glad Jack Evans looked good in this. Pretty cool backstage segment with Puma and Konnan which could foreshadow Guerrero and Mundo turning. You're doing good work making Jack Evans a big deal fairly quick, which I'm a fan of. The main event looked solid on paper and was written very well. I like that Dario exerts his power early on. One final note: I like that you kept the episode revolving around the same group of luchadores as to not oversaturate the viewer on the first night with too many guys they have to keep up with. Very good premiere episode and I'm excited for more.
