The Official 2023 Thread of Banter

I'm here to say one simple thing: I support Dylan.

You have a problem with the way things are run here? Guess what. He's not running them. What he's doing is trying to clean up after you so you have a place to have fun before things get out of control. He is not an admin. He cannot hand out warnings or ban people, not even from his board.

As for the sims thing, just because you don't see public complaining doesn't mean there wasn't complaining. PMs can happen and a lot of them did. People have had posts within Banter reported, too. Reported posts are how admins find out you're up to no good. If a post wasn't reported, there's be about 2% chance that you would get noticed, because admins (who, remember, are the only people who can take any disciplinary action) have too much to do. It is Dylan's job to try to keep order.

Dylan was chosen for this job for being a fair person and a good member. It's that same reason he's been a good mod. If anything, he's actually been lenient and deleted things you guys have said before anyone could get upset with it rather than letting you all get in trouble.

The constant sims chat was overbearing. If anyone wanted to get any non-Sims thing noticed, they'd have to tag someone. At night, it was different, because the simmers had gone to sleep, but during the day, it was all anyone ever talked about. Which would be fine, if it weren't for the fact that they have an entire board for sim talk.

People are blowing the separate sims stuff out of proportion. They said they can't talk in the sims general discussion without getting yelled at, so now there's a Sims Banter. Honestly, I'd think people would be happy about it. They get what they'd tried to have multiple times in the past.

So next time you feel cheated, put yourself in his shoes. If you still feel you have to pick a fight with Dylan, know that you're also picking a fight with me. And, should it come to that, I suggest you say it somewhere I can respond. Running off and insulting me behind closed doors just shows your cowardice.

Dylan's one of my really good friends and I love the kid to death. So I completely shadow what Steben said

I honestly think both sides make good points.

Having a separate thread for sims does seem unnecessary, and it does seems to go against what Banter is about, but we've done it before for Pokemon and it worked. I personally don't care how often people talk about certain stuff. Half of my posts are probably about Game of Thrones anyway, but who cares? 95% of time I'm tagging the people who would be interested, everyone else can just skip over them. Throughout Banter there's always been stuff I didn't care about, I just ignored the posts and went about my business.

I hate it when threads are shut down or deleted for the actions of a few, especially when a majority of the board is fine and just wants a place to chill. But there are people who need to stop antagonizing the mods/admins like children.

At the end of the day, it's just Banter m8.

I stopped liking the show after they killed him off. It's odd how J.J. was considered the star when he was just random comic relief.
