Ok I'll just get straight to the point
Smoking Gunns. What's your opinion on them as a team in the early to mid 90's? Do u think they should have lasted longer? Was there any real pay off in their breakup fued?
What If the outlaws were never to be, could this team have gone into 97 and 98 successfully?
Fake Razor and Diesel: I know everyone hated them because they weren't hall and Nash. But as I go through raw in order, currently at the end of 96, I actually enjoy them. There tag match at IYH in December was pretty good. Did they deserve a run with the belts or any singles belts? Could it have worked if they kept going?
Why did they just abruptly stop using them?
Ok last one
The Godwins. They seemed like they had some steam in the beginning of 96 I think, but as 96 came to a close seemed like they were always losing, and eventually lost hillbilly Jim. Thoughts on Godwins?

I liked Smoking Gunns. They were fun during the gimmicky mid 90s and had cool music and finisher.
Fake Diesel and Razor will go down as a brown sh*t skidmark in wrestling history.
Godwinns had their place and I was much more of a fan during their 1997 heel run. I think Southern Justice also had potential but was dropped.

I always liked the Smoking Gunns. They played their gimmick really well, had the look, had the mat skills, and were just a solid overall team who probably deserved more with the tag titles than they got.
Fake Razor and Fake Diesel was bad and the WWE should feel bad.
The Godwinns I guess were about the same as the Smoking Gunns when it came to playing their gimmick well and being a solid team together.

The Smoking Gunns were pretty good for the most part in my opinion. I've never hated them.
Fake Diesel and Razor were just an absolute joke as far as I'm concerned and they just annoy me whenever they're on TV.
The Godwinns weren't great but they had their place and didn't offend me in any way. I didn't hate them.

All three were products of the time and had limited shelf lives, but Smoking Gunns were probably my favourite of the three.

Smokin Gunns were a great team but didn't have a whole lot of other great teams to work with. I think they could have adapted well in the AE in terms of gimmick but it was for the best that Billy broke away from Bart as Road Dogg made up for Billy in the only thing he was lacking.
They never really got to have a proper feud as Billy injured himself.
Then Bart was moved into the New Midnight Express to try and bolster the whole "NWA invasion" thing they had going on until the Brawl For All. After he knocked the Doc out, they took him off TV for 9 months thanks to JR.
Fake Razor/Diesel sucked so much ass and Godwinns were almost even worse.

Smokin Gunns were ok by me......
Fake Diesel & Razor were horrific
I enjoyed The Godwinns as heels...loved their feud with LOD.

Wish they had done more with the whole split/ injury angle they did with Billy and Bart. It probably could have helped Bart a little bit.

Gunns - did the job they were there for I guess. Never found them very exciting and doubt they would have won the belts if they had been there a few years earlier.
Fake Razor/Diesel - BIG mistake, might have been a solid team with a different gimmick but they had NO CHANCE
Godwins - solid mid card act that benefitted from the lack of good teams at that point. Agreed they matched up well size build wise to the LOD. I preferred Southern Justice to the pig farmer gimmick.

Was billy really injured in that match against Bart on raw in 96?! Not sure. Either they wrote off with an injury angle because of injury, or the injury was just an angle to repackage him. |

In 1993 I couldn't even picture the Gunns being Tag Champions. Fast forward to 1996 and they were the main team holding the division together with being Tag Champs. The Gunns were okay in 93, and in late 94 started to have great matches with the Heavenly Bodies and were getting noticed then. In 1995 they finally got a run with the gold and it worked well, and would continue to work for the next two years. The split between them should have been bigger than what it was. I know their heel turn helped give Billy Gunn some personality. You could see some pre "Bad Ass" in him in the matches he had with HBK on Raw. Then they ruined it with Rockabilly.
Fake Diesel and Fake Razor was just atrocious. I can't believe they had a tag title shot at In Your House to be honest.
Godwinns were alright. Too bad they never had a proper lengthy run as the Tag Champions though. I still wonder why even on the WWE Network is Hillbilly Jim's theme music edited over?? That seems so strange that the WWE doesn't have the rights to a song that is made for the WWE.
