This is the best thing to come out of the psycho Mickie James character and all these years later and I am still okay with it!! Because of Mickie James doing that spot, James got chewed out by Vince McMahon after the match. This was edited off on the DVD/Network version of WrestleMania 22. I wonder how the landscape would have been had Mickie James came in 2002-2003? By the time James came in, women like Jazz, Ivory, and Molly Holly were already gone.

Just goes to show that even in 2006 Vince was out of touch with what is shock value. I am sure - like me - if you mentioned this match they had at Wrestlemania 22 and if you watched it live on PPV, that this spot right there is what gets talked about first.

A good portion of WrestleMania 22 is still fresh in my memory. The Mickie James bit is one of them. So happens, I have not seen this event in its entirely since it aired live. Such a shame no women's match at WrestleMania has yet to surpass Mickie James and Trish Stratus from 22.

It really is the last good women's match at WM.Nowadays the divas title hardly ever gets defened anymore and we get stuck with nothing but meaningless tag matches And battle royals.

Such a shame no women's match at WrestleMania has yet to surpass Mickie James and Trish Stratus from 22. That's Trish Stratus for ya! From Wrestlemania 17 - Wrestlemania 22 she was a huge reason why the divas were popular. Even at Wrestlemania 17 and 20 when she wasn't even wrestling. The slap to Vince McMahon and the turn/slap to Jericho were two big things at those events. But now, the divas are just considered a joke in a way. I didn't watch Raw, but I heard that during the Nikki Bella vs. Sasha Banks match, the fans kept chanting "We Want Lesnar". Doesn't sound much like a divas revolution to me. That would never happen 10 years ago in the WWE.
