Just to be a clear, a momentary mark out moment would constitute something you watched that made you lose your mind as a wrestling fan but was either dashed away or built up even more.
So two examples:
1. My favorite moment of this year was a moment that only lasted for about 2 minutes. It was at Elimination Chamber, and was the moment that Ambrose pinned Rollins 1-2-3. Part of me knew that a Dusty finish was imminent, but in those two minutes where the match seemed to be over, I was absolutely lost in a fanboy fantasy. I had the kind of reaction that had I been watching someone else would probably make me say "Dude, calm down.... it's just a show." In fact, that craziest reaction I ever had, perhaps next to Punk's pipebomb speech and The Rock's return to the WWE in 2011. Seeing my favorite wrestler (and an often badly booked wrestler at that) win the big one for even a tiny bit put me over the moon.
2. Around the time I first started watching wrestling (back in 2002), RVD was just the best wrestler to become a fan of as a kid. And watching him take the title from Undertaker was a similar moment that made me go crazy (seven years old, mind you). Flair came out and restarted the match so it wasn't final, but wow.... that was quite the moment.
For something a little different:
When Punk and Cena had their third big title fight at NOC 2012, I was really into the match. It was so good, in fact, that Cena originally winning wasn't even all that bad to me. I had witnessed a classic, and I was more than satisfied. Cena gets his nice moment, celebrates with the troops.... AND THEN BOOM. The match is ruled a no contest, Punk hits Cena with the belt, and the heel walks away with a smile on his face and a belt around his waist. I know a lot of people didn't like that ending, but it was a moment where the something sudden happened and I was left almost angry (but still satisfied with the match), but a crazy thing happens and it all changes within seconds.
Can you think of any momentary mark out moments?
They don't have to be title changes. Hell, it could even be when Silent Hills seemed like it was on track to be released, but evil forces destroyed the hopes and dreams of horror nerds everywhere.
Interested in what you guys have to say!
