www.ringsidenews.com/featured-news/sting-and-wwe-the-failed-experiment/EDIT: Decided to edit this just to say that I thought the article was worth a read, even if you don't agree with it. I have a lot of time for RSN, so that's why I posted it. It's true that I haven't been entirely happy with the way WWE have used Sting, mainly because the match with Triple H at WM was spoilt by adding DX and the nWo into it, and making it all about WWE vs WCW, which it didn't need to be. I'm enjoying Sting's feud with Rollins, and this is definitely the right direction for them to take Sting in. I'm hoping he's got a few good matches left in him yet.

Man called Sting!! Man called Sting!!
He does this, he does that, he's big as a bull and he's quick as a cat! He looks fine, he looks cool, he's his own man and he's nobody's fool! Don't double cross him, or get in his way, cause if you do, you're gonna have to pay...
To the Man called Sting, the Man Called Sting! He's a Man Called Sting, man Called Sting!

Sting ruined his legacy by joining the WWE. Anybody could've seen it coming. He should've just worked with them on a DVD documentary and HOF Induction, not an on-air character/wrestler.

Well they did what theyve done with every single wcw talent theyve ever brought in, they changed him. Vince changed/ruined nWo, goldberg, ddp, poppa pump, sting. Any major stars have flopped. The only ones vince changed for the better were mid card guys like jericho, eddy, rey. Back to sting. He rarely has his bat. He talks all the time. Often seen without trench coat. Never came from the ceiling. Bright entrance. Bad music. And when he loses to rollins itll be the last nail in the coffin. Rollins couldve had that last cena match with a broomstick, so itll be an ok match. Does anyone else expect raven when stings new music hits?

And people wonder why the dude was so reluctant to ever come to WWE.

The lack of his trenchcoat and bat really annoys me. The WWE only care about ratings and PPV buys so that's all that Sting's basically there for.
Also we should be lucky that Sting never debut in 2002 because he would've been treated far worse than he is now.

I wanted Sting to have a trench coat, baseball bat and "Seek and Destroy" theme as well, but there is a reason he wont come down from the rafters.

I'm not exactly sure what people expected. Do they want him be the focal point on the entire show? Should he be the WWE Champion till WM? Should he be wrestling every PPV? Should he be defeating Cena, Owens, Lesnar clean?
Because the way I see it is, while Sting can still move well, there is no denying the man is 56 years old. He moves better than most 56 year old men, but he still shouldn't be over used at his age. He should not be the focal point. And he shouldn't be winning too many matches.
If Sting was 35 years old and WWE wasn't pulling the trigger, a case could be made. But he's 56! We should be happy WWE is even willing to use him at this age.

Yep he should of just stayed in TNA and continue his feud with EC3 which was more entertaining than what he's doing now, but hey at least those crybaby fans can finally get his Mattel action figure.

No one wanted Sting to be the face of the WWE. But that's no excuse to book Sting like complete and utter garbage. There is no logical way anyone can defend this horrendous booking. On topic, I really don't know what people were expecting. Vince McMahon has proven many times in the past, that's he's a bitter, old bastard, who for some reason, still holds a grudge against WCW, so of course he'll do his best to crap on a guy who pretty much was WCW. Sting was worried for so long what WWE would do to his character should he sign with WWE, and his booking from his WM-now has proved that Sting should've never signed with WWE.

I kinda just wish the WWE used Sting as a guy on the roster who wants to "prove" he can go with the WWE superstars, so we get a chance to see him wrestle guys like Cesaro, Ziggler, Rusev, Orton, Sheamus...so many potential great matchups for a wrestling legend.

Maybe Sting is enjoying himself? He is more likely enjoying his paychecks

He is doing what is asked of him. It doesn't matter if he wins or loses. He's 56 and knows wrestling is fake. What is real though is the pay check he is collecting for a handful of appearances.

He's at the end of his career and his choice was retire, or go to WWE for one last run, have a match at wrestlemania, cinch the HoF, and make money so he can ride off into the sunset. He knew what he was getting into. Yeah they're booking him unfavorably in my opinion, but his energy is there and he seems happy.
With the way they're booking this current storyline, he should win the belt. If he's saying he wants to capture the one belt that's evaded him, and then he doesn't capture it, how do you book him after that? More ass kissing promos? And I'm not knocking on his Hunter promo, I enjoyed it a lot. But if he loses, what's next? Mania with Taker and retire at 0-3?

So no one really has watched TNA.
Look at RVDs TNA debut. Beat Sting in ten seconds. If you think losing to Triple H at Wrestlemania due to cheating or being in the title picture against the top heel in the company is worse even close to that level of badness, you're a damn fool.
