I figured it was probably just my area, but everything I said was true from my personal experience with the USPS. Oh I didn't mean to make it sound like anything you said was false. Just that around here it's pretty different. I know, it wasn't taken that way lol. I'm sure it was just my shitty post office.

Good luck brother. Hopefully it works out. My dad has been with USPS for 45+ years. He has a pretty chill gig but my buddy was with them for about four months and his experience seemed very familiar to Old School Collector. Guess it all depends. On the plus side, we live in San Francisco and the route they gave him had a crap ton of hills so he did drop about 20lbs while there lol.

Congratulations, you seem to have a good attitude & want to work! That's a great start!
I spent a summer as a casual clerk in 1998. The job was not for me.
* Hated the overnight hours....
* Working in the basement all night (never seeing daylight) kind of messed me up a little....
* While I liked the people I worked with.... I didn't like my boss... she was un-necessarily mean to me....
* The pay was very good....
* I found the work boring & repetitive - every Tuesday they would bring a giant pallet of TV Guides, & I'd have to sort them & deliver them to each carrier...
* My Dad was a carrier for 30 years & he supported his family well..... in the later years, I could see the toll the job was taking on him though....
* After working there for the summer, I decided I'd be much happier working summer jobs in Amusement Parks & never went back!

Very true. Both of my in-laws are recently retired carriers. They made good money and got good benefits and retirement. But it is a hard job, with a fair amount of politics, and it takes a toll on your body for sure. They definitely are worn down physically from it and suffered some health problems from it as well. Depending on your area, driving around in either the insane heat or severe cold in essentially an aluminum can is hard work. Not to mention that the USPS environment is changing rapidly due to budget issues. I know a lot of clerks are having their hours or jobs phased out.

I don't know which GIF is more epic, your Al Bundy sig or Taker laughing and laughing and laughing.

Thanks man. I don't mind working bc I love money and I like to go and do things. I work for 8.05 and hour at the moment and it kinda sucks, I just want something better. And I'm not delivering mail guys just post office clerk/sorter. Well that's what the app said. I guess I'll be sorting mail for the carrier. I didn't want sign up for carrier bc my driving record isn't perfect.
