The Joker's last few lines of dialog are just beautiful and outlines the relationship between Joker and Batman that has been imprinted into comics and novels and other medias for years.
The Joker and The Batman are two sides of the same coin. The only difference between them is the ideology of right vs wrong.
The way they transition Dent is just beautiful, and the scene where they reveal Two-Face's face has a wonderful build up that really delivers once you see him. "No. You're not.....not yet."
It also has one of my favorite Bruce Wayne scenes, from the stand point of being so smug. That's the one issue with the first set of Batman movies, is Bruce is such a charitable person that it actually totally makes sense for him to be Batman. But with these trilogy, he is pure A-Hole and it's great.
Anyways, Bruce's exchange with Dent is great, specifically the "We should a couple of tables together" line.
"I don't think they'll let us.."
"They should...I own the place."

It's a masterpiece. One of my favourite movies ever.
How true it is to the Batman character is a different thing altogether. As a standalone movie? It's incredible.

I dont think anyone can say accurately what the "Batman Character" really is though. That seems to be the problem. Person A might think its the Batman from 1 version of a comic book. Person B thinks its Michael Keaton and Person C thinks its Adam West....There is no "true" Batman. He's what you make him and Christian Bale made him a movie legend. |

I love this movie, it really is the best batman that has ever be made. I remember seeing this movie on imax when it first came out and i was very, very, intoxicated.(it was summer time in florida and i just got back from the cow fields, if you get my drift lol) Had the time of my life. My favorite scene has got to be when their doing the chase downtown and the semi truck gets flipped upside down. That sh*t totally melted my nugget.

I just re-watched this recently as part of the trilogy and yeah its a cracker. I have plenty negative to say about it too....but it doesn't hurt the movie for me and since this is an appreciation thread? It has no place here.

I enjoy every batman film (even B&R) and this is one of the better ones. Ledger was great. However these are not the definitive Batman movies since Nolans version is no where near anything like the character from the comics.
I actually like Batman Begins more than this one as I feel it does a better job blending the comic version and Nolans view on the character.

I don't give a damn what anyone says about it. It's my favourite movie. I love that beginning scene with all the goons. A great movie needs agios beginning and that hooked me straight away. Film quote wise, I think it's from Begins but it's my favourite movie quote "Why do we fall Master Bruce, so that we can learn to pick ourselves back up".
