We've never gotten a Mike Tenay fig, so I found a few different pieces, did some sanding and painting and this is what I came out with. Works pretty good scale wise with the Toybiz figs (TNA a little more so than WCW, but that works too). That is some amazing work right there. Short of him getting scanned, that likeness is pretty damned close. I knew exactly who it was before reading. I know I've seen the base figure of that head somewhere. What did you use? Now we need a Tony Schiavone for a wcw set. We end up with that Larry Z Mattel scrapped and it'll be like 96-98 all over again! |

While on the subject of skin tones, are there any lists of Mattel flesh paints out there. I'd really like to get paints for me to work on. Any suggestions? I think someone on here found a citadel paint that matches one skin tone. I think its the like Daniel Bryan flesh color. The others, you just need some practice mixing. Some colors I've used: (non-metallic) gold/dandi-lion (NOT YELLOW!), maroon/red, white and I usually start with some kind of fleshtone so long as it's not a really "rosie" or red. You might even have some light green on hand to kill out some of the red if needed. Too much green will make them look sick but a tiny, tiny bit will help kill some red. Finally, have some brown/brownish red. Start with a decent amount of your flesh tone, and start with the gold-ish color. When you are mixing, be sure to add a drop of water to help everything blend well. Don't get into a hurry with mixing. If you don't mix well, the real addition of colors will not show and when you actually begin applying, it will be "splotchy." Overall, be patient. When you think you are getting close, have a wet rag or something nearby and paint a bit onto the body. When you paint onto the body if its way different wipe it off. (you may keep a "test figure" or body part handy to use instead of the actual figure) When it starts getting really close, give the paint a second to dry. When it gets dry, if it blends in well, you are good to go. It's not a science but once you get the hang of it, you will find it much easier to get the task done. I actually had a notepad and kept notes of around how much of the colors I was using to match certain skintones and exact paint names. Lost it some time ago and am super pissed about that still. |

Then the head wouldn't match. He said the custom is done, he just wants to change the torso. Head being off a tiny bit won't even likely be noticeable I appreciate everyones suggestions and input. Im not a perfectionist but i am looking for a torso and arms combination that will resemble benoits later years when he won the WHC in WWE. Thanks again for everyones help! This forum is the best |

This forum is the best I don't have a pic handy at the moment, but somewhere back in the old fix up thread is my custom Benoit. Brian Pillman legs and torso, the newer cena arms, and an RA head(not sure which, has straight face and beard. The skin tones all match perfectly with no painting. |

But hopefully with a straight face right Assassin ?  lol Ddp is as follows, ddp head repainted, Bradshaw shirt repainted, ddp arms, faarooq jeans cut off at the shin and sanded to fit on medium black boots. Then I used my dremel to gently scuff the jeans all over to give them more of a real denim look, it's more noticeable in person Thanks for the love |
