I don't have a problem with the pricing and here's why. I'm not sure a lot of you heard Bill say this, but I believe he said he's able to spread the cost of the figure across the line now. Which in turn allows him to get new parts, more deco & accessories for more figures. If paying $25, helps me get The Godfather w/ like 5 accessories, JYD w/ a real chain, the new E37 Stephanie which looks out of this world, then I'm all for it.

Here is the problem: it seems SOME collectors don't have enough money in their personal finance budgets to afford all the figures they want. Some of them really really really want to preorder things on Ringside but they can't afford those inflated prices either. I sympathize with you, but the reality is things cost more to produce now then EVER before, and it's good business to charge more for something special. And Mattel doesn't need WWE like Jakks needed them. Mattel is in this to make money; Jakks was in it to make a name and some money. I imagine the executives at Mattel will not accept the same profit margin that Jakks accepted. DM is a way for them to maximize the name power of certain characters. Beyond the product itself, you are also paying for the WWE license (which is bigger than it has ever been before) and the Mattel license.

Because it seemed like a decent idea to put out elite figures of sought-after characters at a higher price. It doesn't seem to have worked out too well. Razor and Hogan are like the new Del Rio and Punk around here.

You can't buy a basic and an elite for $25 You can buy two basics for the same price of a normal elite as well My area's pricing is 9.97 for a standard and 14.97 for an elite. Which is about 25 dollars.

I don't have a problem with it as long as it's something new and different. Or atleast something we actually want.

I'm pretty sure that's just with a single Elite wave with the new way of inserting past HTF figures from the previous wave. For example, X-Pac and Paige being inserted into E36 cases.

They're only 5 dollars more. And we'll pay it because lately they've been debut figures or re-releases of really old figures. They often come with better accessories than regular elites. Ric had a fabric robe and title belt. Sting had a fabric jacket and bat (as opposed to the upcoming's plastic jacket and bat). I think DM Bret was the first Bret figure and came with cloth jacket, shades, belt, and a flag (so many accessories, awesome DM). And then some are just debuts like Hogan and Razor without fabric clothing that could have easily just been regular elites. But they knew we'd pay more because it's a debut of a big name.
Also, they're always a lot easier to find. I'll gladly pay the extra 5 dollars (or wait a few months until it's on sale for 20) to ensure I can find it easily.

They are (mainly) first time/much-requested figures of big names, aimed at the collector. Whether they'd fit in in the regular Elite line (cost-wise) is debatable... (I think the only one that would is Razor). Personally, I don't mind paying a bit extra every few months for awesome figures in great/collectable packaging. With this whole Undertaker replacement thing and no more Hogan, I just hope they can keep the line strong though... WE NEED GOLDBERG!!!! ![:D](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/grin.gif)
