Does anyone here think if talent was still allowed to beat the hell out of anyone trying to get into the ring the recent run of idiots doing so would not be happening?
Back in the day if a fan jumped the barricade or even tried to get into the ring the guy in there would have blasted him. Piper talked in his book about legit kicking people in the head as they tried to get into the ring. The way I see it as soon as you try to jump the barricade or get into the ring you have lost all legal rights to what happens to you.
WWE and professional wrestling as a whole is a show. You don't see idiots like this jumping into a circus ring with clowns or lions and the such. Why do fans suddenly think it is okay to do it on WWE programming? The answer is simple, because they know they won't get beat down by the talent and barely get roughed up by security as they are thrown out of the building.
WWE really should let the talent take these matters back into their own hands. I honestly don't think that there is a judge on the planet would give the idiot in question a win in a court room. All the talent has to do is claim a safety issue and the issue would be thrown out.

Notice how all of the fan involved things recently has involved members of the Shield? Reigns getting clocked in the head with the briefcase. The fan that apparently tried to shank Dean Ambrose. The fan that walked the ramp with Rollins. Last night. Collusion!

I think that if a fan jumped into the ring..... and the talent brutalized them, they would have a pretty hefty lawsuit...
There's a possibility that they could win (as crazy as it sounds) and it would cost WWE lots of money.... but even just the cost of litigation would cost WWE thousands.... even if the lunatic lost the lawsuit.
Better to just let the authorities handle them & prosecute - then WWE's hands are clean.
It's about cost mitigation.
I've always heard that they DO beat the crap out of them (as soon as they get to the back, away from the cameras) anyway....

I agree 100%. If you're stupid enough to jump in the ring then you deserve the beat down. However, that's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Anyone familiar with the Randy Blythe (lamb of god) incident a few years ago? Kid jumped on stage, Randy threw him off, kid died from head injuries, Randy is arrested and charged in his death. It's just too much of a risk for a performer to get involved.

You know, for a moment there last night, I thought a mask-less Rey Mysterio was their partner!
I know why they didn't, but I wish they would have put the boots to the guy.

What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say, that the performers should just hand out "beat downs" and take matters in to their own hands. That would be extremely unprofessional, and the 'wrestlers' on screen are self-respecting people. Just because their job is to wrestle for entertainment, does not mean they just attack people at their will.
I highly doubt all the TV talent take their characters seriously to the point they're going to start clothes-lining fans that try to interfere, however idiotic those fans may be.

I hope that with people jumping the barricade doesn't ruin it for the rest of us, meaning they don't put up those things they put for hockey.

They need better security, plain and simple. How will better security solve the problem? I keep reading posts and even articles from the wrestling "news" sites saying there's a security problem, but is that really the problem? If a fan wants to run into the ring, then they're going to do it. There's no stopping them except for bad luck. Either you tipped yourself off or you tripped or you went out at a bad spot, if you can avoid those three things then you're going to make it to the ring. There's anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 people at a show and unless they have hundreds of security officers creating a barricade around the entire ring, the problem won't stop. Fans have been rushing the field at major sporting events for decades and it's never been because of a security problem. The problem is fans wanting to do it. What's the allure? Are they aware of the punishment and if so, what's the punishment? When fans see other fans do it and don't hear of any of the consequences, then others will follow suit.

The one on the ramp last week I thought was a Make a Wish kid for a second. Yeah I wish they would just beat the cr@p out of them, but then it would probably result in a lawsuit against the wrestler and or WWE. I think a fan got on the field during the Eagles/Cowboys game yesterday and got taken down by one of the Eagles.

Here's the problem, you can't just beat the crapout of someone that's not how life works. There's legal ramifications. The only way the wrestler might get off, is if he claims self defense. It's a slippery slope. It's best to just let security handle it

Morons that jump barricades are attention-seekers, it's all done, just so they can say to their friends, 'did you see me on TV last night?' - it's literally done, just for a bit of attention-seeking in my opinion.

That's really the only way to get these things to stop happening unless they put security absolutely everywhere. If people just hop the barricade right in front of the ring there isn't much security can do. But they'll never do it because if a wrestler were to actually hurt someone badly WWE could get into serious trouble. Whether the fan was asking for it or not.

it needs to stop. and it needs to stop being "promoted" on websites with people sharing videos, pictures, gifs, etc. giving people fame in any sense of the word is the worst thing to do. im getting tired of these asshats thinking they're part of the show. they should be beat the up. its not funny, youre not cool, youre not amazing, you're a pos.

They need better security, plain and simple. I'd be fine with them hiring some retired MMA fighters to hang out at ringside and make these nutjobs regret their life whenever they do something stupid.
