Maybe they want to make the Kickoff show mean something again? They had a big buzz around it for a while then it seemed to drop off again.

Does it really matter anymore if you wrestle on the pre-match or the event??
It's not like these are PPVs anymore (even though you can still get them on PPV) but the WWE always advertises these as events on the WWE Network. The pre-show may as well just be included with the event since it pretty much runs into it anyhow.

Gotta make Roman look strong  Yeah right. Dean/Orton vs Luke/Strowman is on the Kickoff because the match has no heat/storyline whatsoever. It's a match with the guys that had nothing to do and got inserted in the Bray vs Roman feud. |

Seeing as the PPV is mostly syndicated through the Network these days, it's basically just "the show" anyway.
Besides, this match has the least amount of heat/build. Roman and Bray have been feuding for months, it'd be ridiculous to have it anywhere but the main card.

I'm not disappointed really its been dragged out so long now, and had multiple variations of matches on raw / smackdown / other ppv's, it doesnt really deserve a main slot on the card.
