For the first time in my life I won't be watching any horror movies on Halloween. I watched a bunch leading up to today but I'm in anime mode now. I bought Porco Rosso and Tales from Earthsea yesterday and Paprika will be delivered sometime today.
I bought Day of the Dead on Blu-Ray last year. I watched it on Halloween so I might make that the only exception to my anime night, but only if I can handle a 4th movie. Plus I've got Army of Darkness on my DVR...

IMO, Halloween as changed a lot since I was a little girl growing up in the 1970s and early 1980s. I remember my mom took me trick-or-treating (I was usually a clown) door-to-door while my grandma passed out the treats (she made the best Rice Krispie treats IMO). These days, kids for the most part, trick-or-trick at malls and downtown merchants as most kids don't go trick-or-tricking door-to-door anymore for safety reasons.

My mum bought trick or treat sweets for people for knock at the door. No one bothered knocking so I ate it all.

This was far and away the most complicated costume I've ever made, but I had a blast doing it. Forget sometimes how much fun it is to create.

Today is my birthday too. Not really celebrating that or Halloween. Just staying in and doing what I want. Watching Penny Dreadful and playing Halo 5.

![](http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad360/statlernwaldorf/001_5.jpg) Who would have thought there would be a benefit to thinning hair? I'm going to spend all of Halloween looking for someone dressed as Dusty Rhodes. Then I'm going to follow them into a parking lot & break their arm.
