Defining moments has been one of my favorite series from Mattel. I was really saddened when it was shelved and thrilled when it came back. Flair, Sting, Hogan for the re launch have all been fantastic. But I fear that the new trend of re releasing exclusive figures may hurt the sales of the line. Undertaker was passable (I mean the cape and gear is pretty ornate) but now another elite Austin with belts we already have and a rubber vest? This hardly warants a DM figure. I'm concerned. These do not make up for the Hollywood Hogan.
I have nothing against passing on these figs since i have the exclusives and am thrilled for those who missed out. I just hope that it doesn't effect sales poorly and lead to the line getting canned due to lack of interest. I think the interest is there if you give us something fresh that is HIGHLY detailed.

Hogan is the fault of Hogan and Taker was a last minute thing because they lost the rights to the other guy.
Two unfortunate circumstances, but I doubt the trend will continue.
Besides, Austin and Taker won't sit.

No, if they sell well and there is money to be made, why not rerelease them? Shelfwarming Basics are rereleased all the time.

No way, this is great!
I missed out on the RSE Austin with the 2 Titles, and if I can get an Austin with 3 titles instead, then to me that's a bonus! So I welcome the fact that some figures are getting re-released. It gives us a chance to snag them if we didn't get them before.

It's not killing the DM Line at all. Not everyone knows about Ringside Collectibles and that they sell exclusives especially kids

I missed out on the RSC Austin but now I can buy (what I see as) the definitive Austin, with THREE awesome belts!

Cool that we get three belts but I don't consider this worthy of being a "defining moments" figure.

Don't blame them for the hogan issue and despite owning the rsc austin, will get the dm for another set of belts.
Grats to all those that wanted the sdcc taker but wasting resources on someone not 100% signed doesn't seem like good business sense to me.

The only thing that concerns me about the Austin release is that people are going to buy it, remove the belts and then return it. Well that, and that it's going to be the same skinny Austin that they have always released. It looked like it might have been retooled with larger arms and legs, but I'm not certain.

I'm concerned, too. But in the case of Taker, the vast majority of people out there do not have it, and it looks REALLY good and premium worthy. With Austin, people have had multiple chances to get him in that standard ring gear over the past 5 years. Basic or Elite, it's still a standard Austin figure. He's the one I'm concerned about. It's the titles that are going to sell that one...hopefully it's enough.

I missed out on them the first time, so I definitely don't mind the rereleases. Especially Austin. I've wanted one in ring gear for the longest time, and the basics don't have the right boot mold so I never bothered with those.

The undertaker I would consider a semi - re release as only a select few have it , and hogan screwed hogan , but Austin being the dm figure replacement will sell like hell with it having 3 belts and one of them being the most sought after and requested belts to re-released

Besides, Austin and Taker won't sit. They didn't lose the rights, they made it with the hopes that they would be cleared in time, they weren't. Pretty sure that was the case and Bill said so in a Q & A, I think from SDCC. My guess was Owen because this was around when his DVD was announced. Who would have guessed that what Ho'Kogan said on a sex tape in 2007 would come back eight years later? It was totally bad luck. Like Bart said, Taker totally won't sit. Yeah it sucks for collectors its a nearly identical re-release, but a large majority of people didn't get a chance to grab it. And the Austin totally won't sit. Yeah again, it sucks for collectors who have the RSE Austin, but here's a chance to grab those two exclusive belts, plus a third. His Elites and even Basics never sit around, ever, this is pretty good given the short turn around time they needed. Then after that we get Great American Bash '90 Sting.

I'm getting Austin because I ruined mines and want the belts. Honestly they should of gave him the RSCE scan, cody's legs and thicker arms. There's no reason why they couldn't fix it, seeing as they have the parts. I agree with the OP too.
