This is relatively funny, but honestly Jakks created some very high quality RA figures for many years. The biggest knock you could really have on them is the scale (and I constantly see posts on here complaining about the leg pieces used by Mattel). They had limited number of torso's, but you can't tell me Mattel has really THAT many more. Similarly I always felt Jakks struggled to put the right boots on anyone, where as mattel has even fewer boot varieties. There is no denying that by late 2008 until December 2009 Jakks phoned it in big time...but even towards they end they still made some good figures (ECW 5 Christian and Jack Swagger, Orton with sleeve tattoos, RA 40, etc.).
Jakks was MUCH faster at getting attires and new characters out...especially returning superstars. I know people will argue that Mattel makes NXT guys, but keep in mind that is WWE telling Mattel to make NXT people...NOT Mattel choosing to make NXT people on its own.
Heck the nWo came to WWF in February of 2002 and Jakks had prototypes of them at ToyFair like 2 weeks later, the figures were on sale like 4 or 5 months later.
They got 2002 Red and Yellow Hogan out in like 3-4 months in both TTL and R3!!?
They released Randy Orton in trunks in January of 2001...he hadn't even wrestled on Raw in that 100% accurate attire yet....they were up to date just as he got back from injury.
While I don't collect anymore, I think collecting Jakks was a lot more fun than when I collected Mattel. Jakks was constantly releasing better and better figures, when you got a new Edge he typically had a new scan, new molds, and new attire. If Cena was in the same attire, he usually had a new head scan...or came with a new belt accessory or shirt or something. Where as all the Cena's, Edge's, CM Punk's, HHH's, and other guys I owned were identical just with updated attires, which would become obsolete by the time we got them anyways. Also, there wasn't the over-saturation of new/jobber/less popular guys out like Mattel does. It was much more manageable to collect, especially as a kid with no income. It's a lot easier when you are 11 years old to ask your parents for $5.99 to buy Rebellion 1 Chris Benoit, when they know you've been looking everywhere for him and he's hard find, or being 13 and resulting to paying $15 with shipping online for RA 1 Brock Lesnar after your mom couldn't get you KOTR Lesnar for the holidays and KB Toys had everyone from RA 1 but Lesnar. The closest Mattel ever got to that was B7 Sheamus, and sure enough like a few months/weeks later he was everywhere and in every set. I can't imagine being a kid trying to convince my parents that I need this $25 Randy Orton that is identical to my other 2 randy orton's, so that I can get the last piece I need to create Jim Ross, or that I need $12 a piece to get Summer Rae, Tyler Breeze, and Damien Sandow dressed as the Miz
With Mattel i feel like you get the same figure, just a new attire which is typically outdated by that point anyway.

You lost me at high quality Same! Jakks figures are some of the worst uses of plastic ever (second only to Atari Jaguar cartridges) and Mattel's figures are better in every single conceivable way, shape, and form!

I don't even like Jakks plastic, the gloss and colors of skin look jaundiced compared to Mattel's.... I can't even use a Jakks head on a Mattel

Screech, there's never been a randy savage jakks figure, nor has there been a Texas tornado or steamboat. Maybe you need to show a jakks classic line up? A Classic Superstars lineup may include a black hair Ric Flair variant. Not like it hasn't been done before :

Honestly, Jakks had many of the right parts to Frankenstein someone together. For whatever reason, sometimes they didn't use them all, and it was frustrating. We're starting to see that in the Mattel line, but shhh! Don't tell anybody.

Bray and Kevin wouldn't be that big and Torito would be smaller, I mean JAKKS did El Torito. Jakks are really good and I really like them as I grew up with them. I feel Mattel are fragile because of all the detail and it makes me hesitant to play with them where as JAKKS were great to play with. Although I love and prefer Mattel, Jakks will always be more sentimental to me although I don't take as good care of the JAKKS as I do Mattel. This was reall entertaining and funny good job I would of loved to see how JAKKS would do the Shield, Bryan, Wyatts, Neville, Cesaro, Owens and so many others.

Well the Jakks Brock Lesnar wasn't too bad and the Jakks Stings were pretty darn good actually.

My earliest Jakks WTF moment was when I was at a k-mart somewhere in southern New Jersey, I think it was 1998 or '99, and I came across that flat out lazy, intelligence-insulting, troll of a figure called "Jeff Jarrett". It was literally Black heart Owen Hart painted in JJ colors. I said to myself "What is this POS?",
then proceeded to beg my father to buy me it.

You left out the fact that most Jakks figures had lips whereas most Mattels either don't have lips at all or if they do are just skin color...

Well we can only appreciate Mattel that much more. Gosh, we'd all die if WWE had to go back to Jakks.

Jakks are apparently back in business with WWE and call me crazy but I would actually RA versions of the superstars we have now just to see how they would turn out
