This past week, Seth Rollins did a podcast where he basically just said that Sting got a "Stinger" and that he's recovering "really well" and that based on all the tests he's going to be fine.
Sting, however, did a Q&A last week where he said that while he FEELS fine, the doctors are telling him that the tests are showing some things that aren't good and that he's going to have to get it "dealt with" (implying surgery) and that he does not believe he will ever wrestle again.
Does anybody know what the real story is? Obviously we should probably be inclined to believe STING over Rollins, I mean, it is Sting's neck.....even though Sting's story is less positive than Rollins' story. And why would Rollins say Sting is going to be fine if he's not?
I'm hoping that maybe Sting's injury was not as severe as it appeared to be, and maybe WWE told him to play it up as gravely serious so that if he does ever wrestle again it comes as a major shock/surprise.....and maybe they just didn't prep Rollins on how he should publicly address the situation?

I would think that Sting told Rollins he was "fine", and that's why Rollins said that.

It just seems strange. Sting very well could have told Rollins that he'll be fine so that Rollins doesn't feel bad....but even though Sting has said he doesn't use or understand the internet (lol), he's got to figure that if he talks about how bad his neck is at public events that it's going to get on the internet and Rollins will find out about it. And obviously Rollins is going to notice if Sting never comes back to WWE.
It just threw me off a little bit. If Rollins had said "it was a freak accident, I feel awful, we're all hoping that Sting makes a full recovery real soon"......but to actually say "he's recovering well" and "based on al the tests he's going to be fine", those are pretty definitive statements if the condition is not true.

After getting done watching Sting: Into the Light, it's a very rare coincidence where someone you've looked up to as a hero since you were a kid watching them on TV is the same individual with strong character and integrity off camera.
THIS is the man called Sting.
I really hope that was not his last match, and I hope he makes a full recovery. While other guys love their Daniel Bryans, Hogans, and Warriors, I've always been a Stinger!

Last I heard it was just a severe stinger (no pun intended) and he was lucky it was not worse. But if Sting is saying otherwise, I'd take his word for it.
Though he's not as good as he once was, I enjoy having him around. I'd really like it if WWE could find him an on air role that would keep him on TV but keep him out of the ring till the time is right. Then give him once last match and a proper story line to write him out.

I think Sting's match with Rollins was amazing. If viewed in a vacuum, because we have to ignore the fact that WWE just had to put Cena over clean about 5 seconds before Sting faced Rollins for the World Title, that was Sting's best match in quite some time imo. Probably his best match since he faced Roode at Victory Road in 2012, and I'd even put ahead of his match with Aries from Impact in 2013. That pretty much means the world to me as a Sting fan to see him get that kind of match in WWE at 56. Hopefully it's not his last but he got his incredible WWE moment at Survivor Series, his Mania match, and a great match at NOCs, all to put on his resume. I mean it obviously didn't end perfectly, and for that I hope he gets to have more of a post match moment when he is all said and done, but in terms of the bucket list, I think he's already marked them all off.
To the point though, it seems like the initial reaction to Sting was more serious than what it turned out to be. I think Rollins would know. It's not like he wouldn't have followed up with Sting to check on him. I'm expecting Sting back for potentially the Rumble but definitely for Mania 32. I think he'll end this run at Mania and then retire.

Rollins could also be viewing the word "fine" as in, Sting isn't going to be crippled or die. Career comes second to life and limb.
Sure, he may have to have surgery and he may never wrestle again, but there probably won't be any long term ramifications from the injury.
Or, we could just wait and see if he comes back.

I'll be very surprised if Sting doesn't wrestle at WrestleMania 32. They're trying to get everyone involved to make it a box office record-breaker......

I would have said the same thing, but if any major surgery is required, they are out of time to make it happen. Even if Sting is in surgery this month, that gives him 5 months to recover, rehab and train for WM. I doubt its gonna happen. You have to believe the odds of Sting/UT have are less than 1%. |

I really hope that NOC wasn't Sting's last match, I'm so happy that he finally came to WWE being a big fan. Sting has had a hell of a ride in WWE and I can only hope it's not over yet. Get Well Soon Sting!

I hope it was Sting's last match. Not because I hate it, I actually wanted him to win the title. Not because he needs it or it makes sense, but it would have made as a nice cap to his career.
But I think if he got hurt and is his age, he should hang it up. Go out still being able to walk and have that be your last scare.

Sting was riding on a natural high that night. To the Stinger, he was 29 years old again and wrestling Ric Flair. But in reality he was a 56 year old man wrestling someone half his age.
If Sting wouldn't have taken that 2nd turnbuckle powerbomb he would have been alright. And Seth should have been smarter too and realized that Sting is twice his age and that certain moves shouldn't be being used on Sting.
And it's the WWE's fault too for thinking that Sting vs. Rollins should have happened. I would have liked to have seen Sting work guys like Big Show, and Kane actually. They have been around for a long time, and could have worked a better match with Sting and given Sting the wins.

It was an awesome match, I hope he is OK. Great performance by Sting! Wish he didn't take those bumps..but hey he left it all in the ring that night. I hope some of the younger fans who didn't want him wrestling for the title were made believers that night.
