It's not terrible, but I still think the DM Sting is hard to beat. This one looks AWESOME in the box though, so I may have to score one just to have

Didn't the proto have untucked pants? Just the CGI proto. The actual proto had them tucked into the boots. It did? I'v been trying to find the picture but had no luck ![:(](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/sad.gif) Thanks for the pictures as usual PJ! I think I'll need a new shelve putting up for Sting only.

I still hate the fact that the sleeves are a different color. Looks great w the jacket on. Love the red.

Head still looks very off to me. The personal attacks/insults sparked by this figure were not appropriate, but the constructive criticism for this headscan was and still is more than deserving in my opinion.

In hand the scan is pretty damn accurate. I don't know, man. People say that about figures all the time. But we've seen multiple pictures of this Sting from multiple photographers in various lighting conditions and it looks "the same kind of odd" in all of them. Rarely do I feel they do a bad job representing a figure in picture form, and that's ESPECIALLY true when the guys on here start posting comparison shots. I'm skeptical that this figure will look different (better or worse) in person. I don't mean to argue about it. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." and so is "disgust," I guess.

I saw some posters mention how good he looks from the side and it's completely true. He looks spot on from the side and when you turn him about 3/4 perspective, but then he loses it at a straight on view. He's really grown on me, once I got over the fact it wasn't an attire I cared about.

You're welcome to your opinion, but personally I can't say I've ever thought a figure's head looked a noticeably different shape in a photo than it does when viewed in hand from the same angle and under similar lighting. I'm glad you're happy with it but I'm not going to change my opinion so I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree here.

But my point is when you look at the figure in hand the scan is very accurate to a modern Steve Borden scan. I know some won't see it, but I just wonder if they are actually looking at it from his face in 2015 and not from what he looked like 10-20 years ago. I just think those who are saying how bad it is in pics should wait to actually see it in hand, because the camera is drowning out much the face's shadows especially if you use a flash. But in hand you can see it in much better detail. If people still don't like it then that is fine to each their own. But to me the face is the saving grace of this figure. Because I wanted a cloth shirt, over the B55 singlet design...as I hate molded shirts that look tucked in on guys that were singlets.

Mattel should not be pleased with the Sting head. It doesn't look like Sting. It looks like a random person dressed up as Sting for Halloween. I found this pic on Google of two ToyBiz TNA Sting figures from almost 10 YEARS AGO......Mattel's Elite 39 Sting doesn't even come CLOSE to being as good as these scans. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/PJ322/Toy%20Biz%20figures/IMGP1746.jpg) Mattel needs to cut the crap and actually PAINT ON THE FACE PAINT. This ridiculous idiocy of having the head be white and painting on the skin is ABSURD. I really don't understand why the head couldn't be cast in skin colored plastic and then you PAINT ON the white and black face paint, but it RUINS Sting figures for me. People who do customs have shown in the past how it's not always that Mattel's head scans are "bad', it's that a horrible paint job will make them look that way.

But he doesn't look like that anymore. Those figures were based on 10-15 years ago. Mattel's e39 is based off of how he looks as a 56 year old in 2015. Also that was my pic and the one on the left didn't look anything like Sting. It looked like a gorilla in face paint. The one on the right had a great looking face for that era of Sting. Plus I added today's purchases to page one.

It is (apart from the shirt instead of the singlet) a great representation of a 2015 Sting. Just cool it down a bit Lorenzo, it's only a toy after all. ![:)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/smiley.gif)

Ok I literally just got Sting along with Sid, GodFather & Bulldog in the mail. A lot of people are saying Sting's face is inaccurate and all I can tell you is wait to you have it in hand. I have a huge collection of Sting figures dating back to the Galoob WCW figures, this figure by Mattel along with the Defining Moments version are two of the most accurate figures of Sting I own. I absolutely love Elite 39 Sting from the gloves to the boots, to the red shirt and his face is super accurate. Pictures are not doing this figure justice.

Looking at mine while I type this, and I can tell you the scan is dead on. I didn't like the proto pic either but I figured it would look better in hand. And it certainly does. I love it.
PJ, are you sure the skin tone is different than the basic Sting? Cause E39 & DM Sting both have the tan tone to them.

My e39 looks to be a shade darker than the DM and b55. I mean it might be close enough to get away with but it does seem darker.

Some of good points in this: I admit when I think of Sting I don't think of his big forehead like he has now or the way his hairline kind of grows into his hair like the shrubs at the foot of a forest. I guess to me that's the big deterrent, which isn't really fair to the intention of the design which is meant to show these "flaws". I ABSOLUTELY agree with the molded shirts blip! Then anyone could do a head swap if they don't like the "2015" head and get a Sting that at least represents his late 90s look, not to mention it's more accurate to today's Sting to leave the shirts separate. I guess that level of tooling plus the cloth accessory would've limited what they could do with the coat. I do like that coat.

E39 Sting looks fantastic... I really can't understand all the complaints/issues the figure has been getting. And the plastic coat fits the figure really well... he looks a lot better in it than the DM coat, IMO.
