Yeah, I had people who said things like that to me. I dealt with them, and that is how I became known as the Bay Harbor Butcher.
Seriously though, people like that are not worth wasting time on.

Enjoy your life and love what you do.
Who cares what others think, do they pay your bills or live YOUR life !?

Yeah just own it. My friend was talking to me the other day about how he can't get a girlfriend and wonders if it's to do with the fact he plays video games. I told him that I play games, I watch wrestling and collect the figures but it never matters because I own it! I've got a hot girlfriend that I live with who likes that I've got passions about stuff that's a bit different. Yeah I play sports and go to the gym but to have something else that I enjoy she thinks is really cool because it's different. I know that I'd rather buy figures than have a cigarette or beer so it justifies it every time and just because I don't smoke or drink doesn't mean I shame people for it - everyone is different + 1

I used to hide the fact I buy wrestling figures from my friends etc but then I showed them my collection and they were impressed how many cool figures i actually had! Now I tell anyone and everyone I am passionate about wrestling and collecting figures, people who make fun of you for it aren't worth your time! Do you what makes you happy!

Just hit them with an RKO out of Nowhere!
Seriously I don't care what anyone says. If someone says something it goes in one ear and right out the other.

Not reading all 4 pages so I may be repeating something...
But, a snappy response is not the answer here. The answer is you need to be confident enough to not let others' opinions affect your life. There's nothing more powerful than being able to just dismiss other people. If nothing else, just sarcastically agree with them and start shaming yourself for being a dork. People can't really make fun of you when you are able to make fun of yourself.
Also, if you're in a setting with people who you know aren't gonna appreciate your action figure collection, maybe just save yourself some trouble and don't talk about it. There's a few people who I talk about my toys with because I know they appreciate it, but I'm not going to work every day and telling them about how I scored a MIB legends Randy Savage off eBay because I know what people would be thinking.

All people should be saying about scoring a MIB Randy Savage is thats awesome!!! lol

Those who post crap, let it go. They are the ones who are having the exact issues they say you will have. i just post more stuff and wear more t-shirts. I got my wife a Rock shirt and posted her wearing it while holding my title belt. Since then, people have not said much. My wife tells people i collect now and helps me search for stuff. She even watches with me now. I could care less what others say about it. I work in an alternative high school and there a ton of kids there that watch, collect, and follow WWE. It's a great connection to them and helps build relationships.

Staple a dollar bill to their head and jump off a balcony onto them.

People give me crap all the time. Honestly, it bothers me zero because I know I am happy and enjoy my hobby. I'm not an alcoholic or a druggy, I don't gamble, I don't play video games, etc like most of these people who are giving me crap. Wrestling figures and wrestling is my addiction and I enjoy it. If they don't get it, there loss.

my friends on social media and other public forum boards give me crap about buying toys and actually collecting wrestlers. they keep telling me i have no life\will never get laid\have no friends\childish\etc (they even put me down about buying TSHIRTS! and how this is stupid to walk around with a wrestling tshirt) did that happen to you? and what do you say to those people who try to shame you (mostly in public?) Well I have a career, I am in a relationship and I met one of my best friends through collecting. I am not sure how old you are but from what these friends say I would assume you are still in school. Surround yourself with people who don't care about your hobbies or choice of clothing. I am 29 and at this age no one cares what you do as long as you aren't an addict of some sorts. Don't get me wrong people would try to bring me down about what makes me happy but I would just say o well off to the toy store I GO!!!! Beat them the punch and make light of it. If you ever need anyone to talk to by all means message me good brother. You are not alone! As i said, im in college, those things happen in WRESTLING forums anywhere.

i cant think of good answers when this happens, i could care less as much as i want but.thats just letting them "win" By not responding to the trolls, you're the one who's winning. You see, trolls feed off reactions, so if you give them what they want, they'll come back in droves. Ignoring them or even blocking some if they become to personal/aggressive is the right way to go. Let them think what they will, but they likely have some insecurities they are projecting onto you. Besides, like others have said, you could be doing something worse like drugs or something that'll actually harm you. Speaking for myself, I have a network of friends including a girlfriend whom I've been with for a year and one of my best friends is a fellow collector and vendor at local comic/toy shows and we discuss figures all the time. Hell my girlfriend loves it when I show off a new purchase since she's a bit of a fan (More so a John Cena mark) and I don't mind when she shows off some makeup or shoes she bought, but I digress. Not responding to trolls is, like I said, the best move you could do, or block them if it becomes harassment or beyond simple teasing. Take a lot of the advice in this thread to heart, there's some good stuff said here from some wise folks who've been collecting longer than me.

You know I do what I love to do. I love collecting figures. It makes me happy and frankly life is far too short to not do what you love. Does my collecting harm anyone? No and if it bothers someone, then they can deal with it.

I have thousands of figures... Star Wars, GI Joe, WWE, etc. and I have plenty of friends...a pretty good career, and I have been laid many, many times. Not as much now that I'm married (ZING!), but I have a pretty good life and will continue to collect toys as long as I have the money to do so. Who gives a frak what social media junkies think? I bet it's hard for them to get laid when they can't tear themselves away from Facebook and Twitter for longer the 30 seconds. I guarantee their significant other would trade their "gotta finish within 30 seconds so I can update my Facebook status" guy for a "60 minute man" with a Ric Flair figure standing on his night stand! lol Mr. Biggs, you say? lol... Mr. Biggs is my actual name.
I always used to get people either making fun of, or loving, my last name.
