The War is Over
The World Wrestling Federation has met its demise. A war plagued with scandal, defections, politics, and ego has cost Vince McMahon everything.
The USA Network, no longer willing to broadcast a ratings stricken RAW is War, has dropped the WWF’s flagship program from its lineup. Other television networks, fearful of the controversy surrounding the WWF, have refused to gamble on McMahon's Empire
No one wants the WWF...
And so...the WWF is dead.
Everything is Different
World Championship Wrestling is thriving. The “kayfabe” war between the nWo and WCW has created “must see” television – and it’s about to get a lot more interesting. Eric Bischoff has “Billionaire” Ted Turner’s blessing – and checkbook – to sign any former WWF talent.
With a star-studded list of available talent, Bischoff is obsessed with taking WCW to heights they never could have imagined. But balancing an ego-inflated roster with WWF newcomers will be incredibly difficult for “Easy E.”
The Time is...1997
January 1997: "Kayfabe" wise, WCW is being decimated by the New World Order (nWo). Led by mega-star "Hollywood" Hogan and The Outsiders, the nWo are hell bent on systematically destroying the WCW. At the end of 1996, the nWo have control of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the WCW World Tag Team Championship...and the control of WCW Senior Vice President Eric Bischoff. As the war between WCW and the nWo continues, how will the sudden availability of former WWF talent affect this war? Rumor has it that Scott Hall & Kevin Nash are eyeing two close friends to embrace the colors of Black & White...
Join Me
Join me on a journey to an Alternate Universe where the greatest "What If's" are finally answered. "What if" the WWF's top stars joined WCW at the heart of wrestling's popularity? Who would join? Who would look to join a small yet popular Independent out of Philadelphia? "What If" the nWo met its demise sooner rather than later? How would all of this unfold?
Welcome to....
WCW/nWo:
Re-Imagined
Well, well, well.
I'm not really sure where to start.
I guess I should address the future of Intense Championship Wrestling. ICW has - and always will be - my "baby." I started Fantasy Booking in September of 2005; yes, a decade ago. I was 14-years old, really freaking bad, and totally overwhelmed with the amount of phenomenal bookers this board - and other places - had to offer. I wanted to create something just as terrific, just as memorable, and just as great as the rest.
And I didn't.
The first incarnation of ICW was bad. I lacked any sort of vision and I did things that, quite frankly, didn't make much sense. And so, roughly two years ago, I made the decision to reboot ICW.
I had a clear vision of what the reboot would bring to the table and I was really, really looking forward to sharing with all of you my vision. But, quite frankly, I'm burned out. WWE: The Finale is the main culprit. It's the longest show I've ever written - well over 100 pages - and I'm still not done with it. Then there's the Pre-Show in it of itself. It's close to being finished but the motivation isn't there. And when I - or anyone - is not motivated to finish a show, it'll be rushed and it will come out crappy.
So, with all of that being said, I still hope to publish ICW in the future. I still have a desire to express my vision because I think I have some awesome, innovated ideas.
But that's on the back burner.
Brief history lesson for all of you: during the late 90s, a fantasy booker named Tenn revolutionized fantasy booking. His federation took place in the 90s - when the 90s were actually happening! And he created a universe where the WWF, WCW, and ECW were all gone. Mark Cuban (owner of the Dallas Mavericks) created the Charlottesville Wrestling Federation and the CWF was born. To me, it's the greatest fantasy booking fed of all-time. The amount of detail Tenn put into his shows was extraordinary. His booking was sound. He was the best.
And his fed made me fall in love with that era in wrestling. The Attitude Era, the Monday Night War Era...it was so tremendous. And I wanted to create something similar.
Enter WCW/nWo: Re-Imagined. I didn't want to rip Tenn off and create a universe where WWF/WCW/ECW are out of business and some wealthy owner created a new federation with their rosters. Instead, I want to imagine a world where the WWF went of business - which was very realistic when you examine the history of the company in the early to mid 90s.
And so...I bring you this fed. It will start in January of 1997, right in the middle of the kayfabe war between the WCW & the nWo. And it's going to get CRAZY.
So strap in. Enjoy the ride. And welcome to a world re-imagined.
