I don't blame Bill for not coming around. Loved having him around, but it only takes one to ruin it for everyone.
Just remember, those that are happy great outweighs those that are not. If that wasn't the case, the lines would be dead.

I remember Bill saying that WWE figures can compete or best any other big name action figures of the same price range, and I tend to agree. There are occasional manufacturer errors but overall they blow away Marvel Legends and their cheap, rubbery plastics. Jakks can't compete, NECA are much more prone to breakage, and McFarlane skimps on articulation/playability. Now, if distribution were a bit better and Mattel could step up their accessories game a tad, WWE could be my favorite toy line, ever.

Not sure which MOTUC fans are complaining so obnoxiously because let me tell you, having been onboard since 2008 with this line, SLC is a million times better with PR than that weasle ToyGuru. I get that fans are passionate, I'm passionate about WWE Mattel figures too and I get highly critical of Bill sometimes as well, but it's not apples to organges. The same dependances SLC has with his Asian counterparts delivering on the end-product is the same dependances that Bill faces. What I can't understand (because my knowledge of toy production is limited I admit) is why the turnaround is so slow. After 5-6 years of producing these figures, haven't they bothered to at least look at creating efficiencies in the process? It really shouldn't take the same 10-months to produce a figure after 6 years. The quicker product is out the door the quicker your margins are up I'd say. I must admit, I've wondered the same thing about turnover. I know a little about production and distribution, and a big issue is factory scheduling. They book an appointment for a certain time frame, and it gets pushed back further and further depending on the back ups or recalls on the previously scheduled items. Just imagine booking a time for something next July and there are 15 different items ahead of yours. Each has some problem that adds 2 days worth of extra work. That puts your July project back an entire month!

I wouldn't say they completely blow away Marvel legends, as ML has some really good upcoming stuff, and not all of them have cheap plastics. The best Marvel Legends are on par with Mattel WWE, and the worst ones are well, I don't even know.

Just imagine booking a time for something next July and there are 15 different items ahead of yours. Each has some problem that adds 2 days worth of extra work. That puts your July project back an entire month! Alot of it is waiting for approvals. I know the Four Horsemen (sculptors) said when they were doing the DC lines for Mattel they had to get approval from Mattel and DC first on who they wanted to release. And if approved to produce they then send their sculpts to Mattel for approval. Then it would go to DC for approval. Then when they got it back they would make whatever corrections DC asked for and then resend it for approval. And sometimes it took multiple submissions to get them to meet DC and Mattel's expectations for signing off. I would guess with the WWE line it is the same thing but instead of DC comics they need to meet the WWE and the wrestlers or their families (passed away Legends) approvals before it is released.

Maybe I'm just bitter about BOTH of my 3-pack Ultron's legs breaking off at the thigh swivels right out of the box.

those other lines don't really have to worry about scale.
as for the most part they're not based on real ppl...except the marvel legend movie figs...and the gi joe movie figs.
Which i do recall Gi Joe making a Rock figure that was like 5 inches....and looked way out of place in the 3 3/4 scale figs

No matter what figures Mattel release they will forever be up against some fans who won't be happy, so I can understand Bill not wanting to make his presence known xD

The MOTU line has produced some great figures both this line and the line before this based on the cartoon. I think keeping it online only means smaller number of figs means higher quality control. Wwe is massed produced but i think overall it has been good. Love the figures and when they nail it ie sdcc taker they really nail it.

As one of the grumpy members who has criticized the product, I would feel badly if some of the comments came up in some board meeting.
With that said... Mattel is a business. Customer service is a known part of business. In many ways it's no different than a restaurant review.
While I have no doubt that the dedicated Mattel design team works tirelessly, they (because they are human) mess up. My one gripe is that instead of fixing the problem (which many times they do), there is a lot of hypersensitive feedback/reactivity. As my investigative reporting professor once told me... If you deservedly get your ass handed to you, do better. Don't wine, complain, and regress.
Bill, if you're reading this, come back and participate. Get thicker skin, and listen to us. We love you like a brother. You do an excellent job that brings all of us a huge amount of joy. Take tremendous pride in that achievement. But running away from the forum doesn't help anybody. Especially Mattel.
