Stardust wins with a Queen's Crossbow to Slaughter
Mikey Whipwreck vs. Jake The Snake Roberts
Jake Roberts wins after Sabu distracts Whipwreck at ringside. Roberts hits Whipwreck with a DDT.
The Miz vs. Jim Neidhart
The Miz wins after Mizdow distracts the ref and Miz capitalizes.
Bret Hart debuts and helps Neidhart get rid of the A-Lister and his stunt double.
Paul Wight vs. Kevin Nash
Lex Luger distracted Nash during the match, allowing for Paul Wight to win with a chokeslam.
Ric Flair vs. Tommy Dreamer
Ric Flair def. Tommy Dreamer with a Figure Four.
Cactus Jack comes out to help Dreamer because Flair won't release the hold. Flair and Cactus Jack have an altercation and Cactus Jack challenges Flair for his title at Great American Bash. Randy Savage is also owed a match for the title, so Ric Flair is offered either a triple threat, or two separate matches.

WCW The Great American Bash
 Pre Show: Sgt. Slaughter challenges anyone in the locker room to a match. R-Truth answers, but is easily submitted by Slaughter's Cobra Clutch. Ric Flair talks about how he and his challenger Randy Savage will be working double duty tonight, but assures the crowd that he will walk out as champion. The challenger to Macho Man's U.S Championship is revealed to be none other than Bret Hart. Main Show: WCW World Tag Team Championship: The Miz and Damien Mizdow defend their titles against The Ascension. The Ascension defeat The Miz and Mizdow to become new champions in a match of the year candidate. Rivals Sabu and Mikey Whipwreck team up against The Steiner Brothers. The unlikely team couldn't function properly and failed to win against the veteran Steiners. WCW United States Championship: Macho Man is defeated by the Excellence of Execution in a quick, but fast paced match. Bret Hart becomes the WCW United States Champion. World Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair defeats challenger Cactus Jack with a figure four after a nearly thirty minute match. Macho Man Randy Savage immediately comes to the ring after the bell rings and the next match starts. World Heavyweight Championship: Macho Man defeats Ric Flair by focusing on the worn down legs and body of Flair to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. The show closes with Randy Savage raising the belt above his head and pointing at the crowd. |
