Bryan Alvarez mentioned during Tuesday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Live that WWE plans to have John Cena return at the December 13th TLC pay-per-view. Cena was originally scheduled to return at the December 26th WWE live event from Madison Square Garden.
The reason for this is because TLC takes place in Boston, which is near his hometown in Massachusetts. The idea is for Cena to return in a U.S Open Challenge against Alberto Del Rio at the TLC PPV so he will get a big reaction.
Keep in mind that plans change all the time in WWE, but this is currently what WWE has planned for Cena.

Makes sense for him to return in Boston I guess

So now the US Championship is going to be the US Open Challenge Championship?
The fact he's returning sooner isn't surprising though.

Ooh, 13 days. I thought this meant he'd be back sometime in November. Should've put [Potential Spoiler] in the title too as this might ruin the PPV result.

Just wait til the ratings begin to tank without him. He'll be back for some Thanksgiving special RAW at the latest.

Cena overcame the insurmountable odds and comes back........2 weeks earlier? That's not really suprising. If you would have said he'd be back in 2 weeks, THAT would have mattered.

Would prefer the Rumble. And I'd rather WWE go out of business than to ever do another Cena vs Del Rio match.

It doesn't surprise me however soon as I seem to have LOTS of amazing things happen to me I get a pulled muscle in my shoulder and what I knew and hoped wouldn't happen happened!

Two weeks sooner isn't really a big deal for anyone let alone Cena.

PLEASE NO. I think WWE just swerved us, they let Kevin Owens get a win then after, he lost. The same thing is going to happen to Del Rio. Does Cena ever not avenge his losses? Goddamn.

Ugh.
Unless he gets a complete character overhaul then I have no interest in seeing him.

there's so many creative ways they could make it that cena doesn't just return and defeat del rio...let's hope they use one.
