Thank god!
The new mold has the cut above the boot, but it was awkward. The original mold has the cut above the pad, but below the top of the boot. The TRU Rollins uses that original (superior) mold.

On the old ones, its a bitch to remove the knee pads.. Other than that, they're better i think

E37 Rollins has that mold, too. The only way to know if it's across the board is for someone to confirm who has E38 Daniel Bryan.

FALSE! The Miz has the kickpads where it's just one piece. Looks the same for Mizdow. I think dudes with tights will get the two-piece kickpads, the dudes in trunks will get the one-piece kickpads.

I pretty sure they did it for e37 seth rollins cause it was easier to paint that piece silver instead of having to use the new mold and paint the whole boot

The Old ones suck for guys who have designs across the two pieces.
Elite 38 Bryan has the new type.

If I'm honest I never noticed they changed it in the first place.

How is an arbitrary cut through the boot better than the boot being a single, solid piece with uniform color, paint, and sculpt?
Plus, yeah, the knee pad thing.

I realized this when I went to swap E29 Punk kickers on E37 Rollins

The only good thing about the new kickpad mold is that the swapping kneepads are easier. Other than that, they're garbage. The kneepads slide up and down due to the thinner calves and most of the figures with those kickpads have wierd bent legs. Half the time, I feel like the calf is going to snap. The old ones were much more sturdier. I'd wish Mattel released the old style more often.
EDIT: I forgot to mention there's a wierd gap in between the boot and calf when you turn the boot with the newer kickpads.

I have noticed that awkward gap, sometimes even without twisting the boot around. Sometimes they just aren't pieced together well and no effort can seem to fix it. Also, many are warped like you said. Pros and cons to both designs.

I prefer the split one
Looks better in my opinion
The new one is too slim or something

It's split because it's a repaint of X-Pac's lower half.

Bad decision if they're going back to the split ones. Why?
1. Makes customizing harder 2. Doesn't look as good. 3. Isn't accurate to real kickpads as the pad portion doesn't stop that low.
Hopefully this is just an exception and not the rule.

i think at this point i like the cut being above the boot the best. but my real problem is with the knee pad mold they use with these kickpad guys.
they need a shape like xpac got so the kneepad fits flush against the boot better simulating the all black total coverage of kick pad and kneepad guys like dbry, rvd, and jericho use
