Hulkster2001These rewrites just to have hogan not lose at wrestlemania?? ...and walk out with the title every year. Fans would be sick of hogan years before 92-93. I love Mr. Perfect but he was never over enough to main event wrestlemania in the pre network age. Hogan/Warrior was perfect as it was.

I love Mr. Perfect but he was never over enough to main event wrestlemania in the pre network age. Hogan/Warrior was perfect as it was. I think Mr. Perfect could've main evented WM6 if it was done right (WWF Champion vs. The Undefeated) and probably should've been this way, but Hogan's focus was still connected one way or another to that No Holds Barred movie in 89. Perfect's feud with Hogan started at SNME 24 (November 89) with him costing Hogan a match against the Genius and destroying the WWF title belt. It was a memorable moment, but not a whole lot was done on TV thereafter unfortunately. Perfect was supposed to win the Rumble in '90 (which would've given him a boost), but Hogan demanded the win the same night. Hogan and Perfect went on many house show matches and they did sell out Hershey Park and Capital Center in January despite the obvious Hulk vs. Warrior setup that was happening. The booking should be: 1. SNME 24 - Genius def. Hulk via countout, WWF title incident happens
2. SNME 25 - Hulk def. Genius via pinfall (Perfect banned from ringside, but he attacks Hogan in the back after the match)
3. Royal Rumble 90 - Mr. Perfect throws out Hulk Hogan to win the Rumble
4. Heenan joins with Perfect as his manager, and Perfect keeps his "undefeated" record till WM6
5. The Main Event III - Hulk def. Macho King, Mr. Perfect def. Warrior via Countout
6. Wrestlemania VI - Hulk def. Mr. Perfect to retain the title
7. Earthquake squashes Hogan on Superstars and Hogan is stripped out of the title for the Warrior to win it in a tournament to give Warrior time before the "Ultimate Challenge" at WM7.

Mr Perfect definitely could have main evented a WrestleMania, Rick Rude too. They could've gone with Perfect temporarily before Bret at Wrestlemania IX. This is what I mean... 1. Ric Flair keeps the WWF title after beating Savage. 2. Perfect turns babyface and joins with Randy for Survivor Series in a tag match against Flair and Razor. 3. Perfect defeats Flair to win the WWF title on the debut episode of RAW (which would be a powerful debut for RAW) forcing Flair to retire. 4. Perfect defends the WWF title against Razor Ramon at Royal Rumble 93, while Bret Hart wins the Rumble. 5. Bret Hart def. Perfect at WMIX to become the new WWF Champion.
