Spice racks work.
You can also go to a local lumber yard and see if they have some cheap scraps of 1" thick wood you or they can cut down to whatever length and width you need for your shelves. It's pretty easy to make any number of tiers of any custom size you desire.

I used to do the official Matty Collector stands, but my collection outgrew it. Three-tiered spice racks work best.

any idea of making something that works with things you can find around the house? Use old books. What I did on my shelf. I used some smaller books from when I was a kid stacked up on each other for the first row and then used some of my old school books for the subsequent rows.
