I've always wondered what the storyline (if there would be one) for his rivalry with Eddie would've been.

I've always wondered what the storyline (if there would be one) for his rivalry with Eddie would've been. They did start it before Austin left; Flair had brought in Eddie and Benoit to Raw and was using them to take out Austin. I remember a segment where Eddie was at Austin's favourite bar whilst he was there, and he started doing karaoke and in general getting under Austin's skin.

Austin sucked in 2002 and any feuds he would've had if hadn't left probably would've sucked. He mailed in ever performance from 2002 that I've ever seen. Piss poor from Austin but he was having troubled times so it is what it is

It wasn't until he realized they didn't have any plans for him that he started to not care anymore. That seemed to be when he realized that him and Hogan wouldn't fight at WM (I'm with the people who fell they wouldn't mesh well) and they wanted to push HHH over him (HHH as a face was terrible).
