Last night I had a dream. I don't remember anything specific about the actual content, but I do remember one thing: Avicii's Wake Me Up was playing and I was even singing along. It wasn't distorted either, it sounded exactly like the real thing. And I could really feel it. The weird thing here is that it's been a while since I've played this song at all. The fact that our brains are capable of things like this truly fascinates me. It's not the first time this has happened either...
Dreams can be pretty damn powerful.
Has this happened to anyone of you?

Sort of. Around May of last year, I fell asleep while listening to music. Whenever that happens, I'm able to hear the music in my dreams, sometimes affecting them. "Mis//Undestanding" by We Came as Romans came on. I could hear the song in my dream, but for whatever reason, the chorus repeated for close to five minutes. It was clear as hell, too. I even realized in the dream that whatever was happening wasn't normal.

I honestly don't remember ever having music in my dreams.

Not music, but I remember having a very ordinary dream with not much going on. However, I could hear very familiar dialogue. Even my dream-self was thinking "This sounds very familiar, but from where? And what does it have to do with what's happening?" Long story short, I fell asleep to Nick-At-Nite, and woke up to a 4 am Fresh Prince rerun.

Sound oftentime will just work it's way into my dreams. I normally fall asleep while watching YouTube videos or a DVD on my Xbox and the other night in my dream I could hear the sound of Excalibur (commentator for PWG) yelling in my dream. Turns out I fell asleep watching BOLA.

I've had several weird dreams that were influenced by real life stuff.
I used to go to sleep to Orb's Orbus Terrarum on loop because I find the music soothing and it often makes its way into my dreams.
Once while in the hospital with a central line (an IV in your chest) I had a dream I was in river boat going down the Amazon when we were attacked by pygmies and I took a spear through the chest. I freaked out the nurse who came running into the room to see why I screamed and woke up in a cold sweat. Worked out great though because she gave me an extra dose of morphine.
Another time I fell asleep while ESPN2 was on my TV. In my dream I had a long argument with Stephen A. Smith about how Tom Brady is a better QB than Aaron Rodgers. I woke to the end credits of First Take. (Guess whose side I usually take in the arguments between Skip and Stephen?)

I once had a dream Marilyn Manson did an acoustic song about the New Day.

I often go to sleep whilst listening to Tycho, and there have been instances that I've heard certain songs whilst dreaming.
'Hours' and 'Red Bridge' in particular.

I don't remember my dreams a lot of the time but there are so many times where I wake up with random songs in my head like I just got finished listening to them. Songs I haven't heard in ages... Kiss From a Rose for example was stuck in my head the other day when I woke up and it felt like I had just listened to it but I have never gone out of my way to listen to Seal -_-

No but there have been times where I've fallen in and out of sleep for a few minutes at a time while watching a show and the episode will continue in my dream. But obviously if its an episode of a show I haven't seen before my dream will just make it into something random. It happened to me a few times while watching sons of anarchy last night. I did this during a few episodes so now I'm not sure what I have to re-watch.

Sad But True by Metallica plays as my dream-camera pans over my neighborhood in just about every dream I have.

I've had it in dreams before but I honestly couldn't tell you which song it was, Wake me up is a favorite of mine from Avicii though.

I've had music in my nightmares. I like it when I don't remember anything and I just wake up. Dreams can start off nice and then turn horrible.

I've had music in my nightmares. I like it when I don't remember anything and I just wake up. Dreams can start off nice and then turn horrible. I remember a scary dream I had and there was dramatic music similar to the part in this video when Kane sits up, it was terrifying!

I fell asleep listening to Tom Baker reading 'A Christmas Carol' last year. Never again. It was like a cheese dream if the cheese was on hard drugs.
