After their investments into cages and playsets etc we won't be getting a smaller scale ring anytime soon

Thanks for the pics of the skirts though. I grew up on NWA/WCW saturday night, and almost exclusively watched nitro for a long time during the war. The ring is fine with me because they didn't have to make the wcw stuff to begin with.

The mat and skirts look great. My only problem is a WWE scale ring is noticably bigger than a WCW ring. That's very true. I've wrestled in both a WCW ring and a WWE ring (which I didn't even realize until I started to type this out!). The WCW ring is 18 x 18, I believe, and has cables wrapped in like hose casing instead of ropes. The "ropes" are also a little lower so you look like a giant in their rings. The WWE ring, is 20 x 20 and has actual rope wrapped in tape.

This is correct, WCW rings were 18 feet by 18 feet measured to the edge of the apron, the platform was 40 inches from the ground and the top rope was slightly lower than the WWE one. And yeh they used cables instead of real ropes.

Well I'm a smaller guy so I preferred the WCW ring. It was easier to do springboard stuff and I looked bigger than I actually was in it. I haven't technically wrestled for WCW, we bought one of their old rings from the Power Plant when they closed and used it at our wrestling school. I was in a WWE ring for a 4 day try-out at FCW a couple of years back (they were 60ish people from all over the world including Sexy Star, Joey Ryan, Michael Elgin, Rob Eckos and the ONLY guy they ended up signing was Tyler Breeze.) While it was cooler to be in the WWE ring, it's almost too big. It's bigger than any other ring so it throws you off when running the ropes because you have more steps now. It's probably easier for bigger guys to work in though.

I always wanted to wrestle, but my body just can't deal with the bumps, so I had to give up on it before I really even got started.
