Don't come to WM Rock if you don't intend to wrestle. It's so annoying when people do that

It's hard to blame WWE for wanting to bring back the most mainstream guy they've ever had after the company has suffered through another year of tailspin ratings.

If all this hype is for a promo-only appearance, then that's a sad statement on the current condition of WWE....
When a simple appearance/promo from The Rock is bigger than anything they could spend the next six months building up to, it's time to fire the entire creative team.
If he wrestles, I hope it's against a newer star (Reigns, Rollins, Wyatt) and not a rehash with Triple H or Brock Lesnar.
I keep picturing a "Mega Powers Explode" type angle with Roman Reigns turning heel (Macho Man) and feuding with Rock (Hogan). I think that could be big money & help legitimize Roman with the fans....

Makes a lot of sense, so it probably won't happen I could take it even further, have The Wyatts feud with Reigns leading up to a tag team match the Rumble..... Reigns brings Ambrose & a "mystery partner" at the Rumble, the mystery partner is The Rock..... Rock/Reigns/Ambrose VS. The Wyatts..... Rock/Reigns win, then Reigns turns on Rock.... cuts a scathing promo about always being in Rock's shadow..... how Rock ruined his Rumble '15 win, he never needed his help, etc..... Ambrose could be surprised by the turn.... it wouldn't really matter..... Reigns goes on a path of destruction, battling Ambrose leading up to WrestleMania (& destroying him). At 'Mania, Rock VS. Reigns for the title..... I wouldn't book Rock to win the title - but it wouldn't be the end of the world if he did.... the finish doesn't even matter, the feuds leading up to it would get everyone over (Reigns/Wyatts/Ambrose, etc).

I'm not too confident that he'll be working a match as it doesn't make sense to have promoted this out of the blue otherwise, unless it is to garner more interest to weekly Raw programming in the hope that he'll return soon to start a Wrestlemania feud. If he's having a Match, then Triple H vs The Rock is the way to go. Have Triple H vs Roman Reigns at the Rumble, then continue the beatdown on Reigns the next night prompting Rock to return to the aid of Family member Reigns. The build will be straight forward and the Match makes sense. Lesnar and the Undertaker's situations are what's still not clear to me. Anyway, I'm glad about this regardless as I've never seen stock live and it's my first Wrestlemania I have tickets to. This is pretty much what I'm thinking too. Reigns/Cena and Triple H/Rock as two of the Main Events. Then Taker and Lesnar need to find some matches.

Meh.
FYI, from everything I've read, Rock has a clause in his contract for the movie he is filming that wouldn't allow him to wrestle. So, yeah, just promotional.

WWE will just show one of his movies in an attempt to get people to watch.

Because of the studio contract, this almost guarantees that Rock will give a promo early in the show and runs down for Roman ala 2015 Royal Rumble.

I can only imagine the money they're paying him and the production company for Baywatch to get The Rock for Wrestlemania. Honestly, they don't have much of a choice. The attractions they have lined up so far for 32 are extremely underwhelming and they need all the help they can get. They're going to need more than just The Rock appearing to be able to sell all those seats in Dallas.

Hopefully they find something constructive for him to do. Since Hogan is out of the picture they better have something for The Rock to do

The interwebz? Or do u work on the Rock's movie? Oh wait I bet you have his contract on hand. No one outside the Rock, WWE, and the studio he's working for knows what he can and can't do. And even if they didn't want him to wrestle, who says they don't change their mind. It's promotion for the movie.

I actually wish The Rock would just not be there at all. The new movie he is filming contractually prohibits him from wrestling, so whatever he does at WrestleMania, it is NOT going to be a match.
He's probably going to do another long, drawn out, waste of time promo segment like last year. Man that dragged on FOREVER.
