Hey, i was looking through eBay for TTL and BCA figures and then remembered that i had previously seen a Punk figure in the TTL style. So i searched it in on eBay found it, then went to find a MOC one on Google images and can't find one. If you want to take a look at the figure go to eBay UK and type in "RARE WWE CM PUNK JAKKS CLASSIC WRESTLING FIGURE UFC" sorry don't know how to post images.

If you're not on a mobile device, save the picture and then you can upload via the little tool buttons up top in the text suite where you write you stuff.
And yeah, it was from late in Jakks run when (I guess this is what happened) they were liquidating all of the old TTL parts they had laying around. It's pretty cool for old school TTL collectors, but they couldn't have been lazier with the paint jobs on those things! Jakks last year or 2 of having the license pretty much ruined their reputation in my eyes.

Thanks for clearing that up! because I'm a younger collector i was really young around the time TTL and wasn't even born when BCA figures were out. I was looking at the backlash figures they made and they are all pretty much in TTL style but there are Hogan and angle figures in BCA. Is this just due to trying to get rid of old parts?

The BCA-looking Backlash figures were an odd one. They weren't the standard BCA parts, if I remember correctly. Or the earlier ones (WWF branded) were, the ones that were repaints of BCA figures like Bad Ass Undertaker. But the ones that used realscan tech for the headsculpts (WWE branded) had different bodies, I think they were bigger than the older BCAs. Chicago would know more about this. The TTL figures from later in the Jakks run came in four-packs with almost no deco. But they were a cool way for longterm collectors to integrate newer superstars in with attitude era guys for a figure fed. Kofi, Shelton, Orton, Punk, Miz, Morrison, Batista, Finlay, Elijah Burke, Carlito, Masters, new gimmicks like JBL and Rated R Edge etc. HBK got a pretty decent figure in one of those sets.

Seeing those awesome knee pads makes me wonder just what the &*^%* Mattel's line of thinking was that lead them to give us those hard as a rock, stupid looking ones they seem to put on 96% of their figures.
And that 2nd 4 pack you pictured doesn't really look that bad at all. I mean sure, no deco, but I always pictured the lat TTL releases all having that weirdly angled right foot. Maybe I'm thinking the TNA TTLs they made with the heads that were frighteningly big.
I remember the Backlash line. While touted as BCA's they weren't the same. IIRC there were 2 molds they used, "Long Tights/Knee pads" and "Dudley Boys Pants with shirt". I think when they were first released there were (unfounded) rumors that they were supposed to be part of a TLC playset or something along those lines.
