Hey Everybody, So, with Mattel finally releasing Big John Studd and the Heenan Family HOF box sets beginning to pop up, perhaps this is a good opportunity to compare the new release with the Jakks release. Many people complained about the Jakks variation being too short, and Mattel looks to have improved that part. What about the rest? Here is your chance to sound off or share your opinion. Go!!!  |

Mattel's version looks amazing, about 10 million times better than Jakks'! The jakks Studd was one of the biggest failures of the whole line. Thanks for showing this comparison.

I wouldn't say it puts the Jakks version to shame, both are solid efforts for their time(edit:Okay, the Jakks scale to Andre is ridiculous). I want to say the Jakks likeness is better and could see myself buying an extra to do a Jakks headswap, then put that BJS head on my extra Jim Duggan I had to buy for the McMahon promo years ago. This is just going by pics, can't say for sure until I get one in hand.

It's crazy to think that there's 11 years apart these figures from when they were released but the evolution of wrestling figures has been amazing as seen here!

Great 4 pack. We get 2 new figures and 2 great repeats of Andre and Perfect that we all wanted. Much happier with this set than the last one.

saintpatrick33 What's your thoughts on the Mattel Studd vs Jakks .........this is gonna be great.....or a train wreck I made my Custom Studd bigger so Im cool as I like a more larger than life figure kinda like in the video game LOWM but Ill call it like I see it and even though I hate the over articulation in all figures but Mattels Giant John Studd is a 8.5 out of 10 . Head sculpt , hair part , Jaw perfect really nice but maybe jaw/cheek area wider ? bigger belly and his neck is to long but their best legend to date but I hope they darken the beard and highlight the hair and then its a 9.5 ! Sorry no 10s as Only PJ and God are Perfect ! He'll look great by Andre but crap if you put him by Les Gold Hulk Hogan most disappointing headscuplt ever bad hair and freakin holes in his head ! Freakin Les Gold ? |

The Jakks was great for its time. Mattel is great for its time. I wonder what a Studd figure will look like 10 years from now.

Look at the difference in boots. Those jakks boots are horrible
I love this big John studd figure. It's damn near perfect. I do look forward to seeing the hair and beard re painted by one of our customizers.
I don't know how anyone could hate the rsc hogan headscan, it's my favourite headscan for hogan. Looks nothing like les gold.
