So Sandow is just... a guy, now? Ugh. I think it's the whole Aron Rex thing. Typical hot WWE release who sinks without their name or gimmick their popularity was built on. Sandow as a gimmick was getting a following before he left, whereas Galloway and EC3 left on low notes and needed a fresh start. Then you have your Kurt Angles who are real... Damn real. I wasn't really invested in Sandow before he left but when he dropped the name Aron Rex, in my opinion shot himself in the foot. He does better with an over the top gimmick, like idol, Sandow, Mizdow. Trying to be himself just isn't clicking for me.

Plain and simple, Sandow is boring, unless he's in a comedic role. It's the reason the WWE never did anything with him. He's humorous, but there's only so much you can do with a comedy gimmick.

Not Moose, not Bennett, Not EC3, but Eddie out of nowhere. Don't think this was the right time for this moment.

I'm jazzed that Edwards is champion but I don't necessarily think he's going to be a solution to any problems the company is going through nor is it going to draw any new eyes to the product. Seems like it was just done to shock the people watching the show and y'know I'm pretty alright with that at this point. That's the only thing on this weeks show I've had a chance to see though so I'm gonna give a more thorough critique of the show when I have a chance to go back and watch.

Eddie Edwards is TNA's new AJ Styles/Austin Aries type wrestler for sure. That can go from X-Division to main event and back and forth without missing a beat.
I also believe Eddie Edwards makes the 3rd wrestler in TNA history to be ROH Champion and TNA Champion. The other two were Samoa Joe and Austin Aries.

Yeah... the EE win was horrible timing for him. I like EE, a lot actually, but there was so much shock value to the win that it really left me scratching my head. More so because TNA has had Miracle and Moose white hot on separate occasions and never made either one champion.
Cody is kind of a breath of fresh air. I wish they would have had more time to build up his match with Miracle. The PPV, 1 episode of impact and then the match felt like too much, too fast. I think it felt like a TV match more than the PPV match those two can definitely give us. From a storyline perspective, Miracle and Maria are on a downward spiral. So I'm wondering where they go next.
Eli Drake is pointed up. That guy feels like the only guy who is climbing the ladder right now.
Not that long ago we had Matt Hardy as this amazing champion, and then Drew Galloway, EC3, Miracle and Lashley were all circling the title with their own agendas, characters, and personas. It was exciting, and awesome. I think TNA has abandon that during the Lashley reign. EC3 has beef with a different wrestler every week, Galloway is hurt but would be feuding with Sandow anyway, Miracle has been distanced from the title, the Hardyz are in the tag division, Moose was chasing the title but was really chasing the guy who lost because he's an over babyface, and Eddie Edwards is out there on an island floating from one match to the next, but then suddenly became World Champion.
I don't know, it's still a fun show, but the World Title picture is drastically weaker than it was just a few months ago imo. Which sucks because that World Title picture was really driving the show.

I just read that the latest Impact was the second-lowest rated episode. Only beaten by the one that had all those technical issues a while back.
These people cannot catch a break.

I think TNA is trying to build their own version of "AJ Styles" with Eddie Edwards. Which is of course ironically funny because they had AJ Styles to begin with. But Eddie can go from X-Division, to tag team, to the World Title, and back and forth and its believable each time. So that is my theory on the whole Eddie Edwards thing. I am actually happy he won the World Title, and I have a feeling he will win it again and again.

Eli Drake is pointed up. That guy feels like the only guy who is climbing the ladder right now. I only watch the first hour of TNA because, well Supernatural > pro wrestling, but tonight I caught another of the Eli Drake talk show segments complete with canned audience reactions. I have to admit, I enjoyed it. The whole "Dummy, yeah" thing with the big red button is working for me.

Of what I saw (which was YouTube highlights) it seemed like a pretty decent show...Cody vs Eddie looked good, as did Moose vs Lashley.

i liked Moose vs Lashley....and think that could be a PPV match if they tweak some stuff and work on some more spots.
TNA is pretty much the Maria Show...ever since she walked in the door. She be in like 3 feuds all the time.
