I would have preferred for this to happen at the debut show if it were happening, despite TNA always turning someone heel. I mean why have EC3 win the belt, to just lose it a few weeks later on TV?

If this brings us Big Money Matt/ICONIC Matt Hardy from ROH, I will take it with open arms.
This is silly, but Matt Hardy as Big Money Matt is something I'd love to see again.

I totally agree. While I don't think Matt should be TNA Champion if they were planning this why not just have him turn heel on the first live POP show? It would have not been spoiled and they would not have a crappy 3 week or so TNA World Title reign in the record books.

It was a good match. We'll see how it translates on the tv. Look at that Hardy gut!!

Wait a minute, TNA had a title change on a taped show and randomly switched people from heel to face with no explanation?
Well, knock me over with a feather...

I agree that the back and forth with the title is a bit much. They could've probably just done this in a cleaner fashion and gotten the same affect. I do, however, want to briefly touch upon the state of the company based on these developments.
I've never understood the desire for TNA to fail, and I still don't, but with baffling decisions such as this I suppose at least some are calling for a mercy killing (whereas the other 90% are just trying to be cool on the internet). Raven once said that there is 'nothing worse than bad wrestling'. TNA is bad wrestling. Lackluster roster, horrendous booking, extremely low star power, and in some cases bad matches. Sadly, many of the stars that TNA used to boast have been in TNA for so long that their names are no longer special...and at his best Matt Hardy was never more than a mid-carder beyond his reach. Now he's in his 40s, in the twilight of his career, and far from relevant. In fact, I would go as far as to say the only worse champions in TNA over the past few years were Eric Young and Magnus. Booking aside, Matt freaking Hardy is your world champion? Matt Hardy is the big heel? Regardless of the way that it played out, this is supposed to be a big 'money' angle; Matt Hardy would've been believable in this role no later than 2007.
I get it, EC3 is (rightfully) the guy, he needs the big push; a rub from a superstar. Matt Hardy is not that guy. If Jeff wasn't such a terrible heel he would've been the guy to do this with- if only because they can't go to the Kurt Angle well again. Sadly, that says it all about the roster's star power. This is just another example of TNA's problems since the beginning; over-reliance on washed up stars from the early 2000s and terrible random tandems (such as Brodus and Matt Hardy).

What a phenomenal tag team name! Any time I think TNA might be worth tuning into they pull some stupid crap that makes me glad I never bothered.

Nothing about Matt has been major since early 00's.

I get wanting EC3 to be your top babyface. Everyone loves him.
Matt Hardy, I just can't support at this point. I just don't enjoy him. The idea of him being a world champ is kind of comical to me. It's just not something I can buy into at this stage of the game.
The first thing I thought of though was a Bennett vs EC3 feud. Should be phenomenal.
