  ?I am making this thread because I am curious to see if anyone else would like to see Jericho win the US Title and or if they think it could be a possibility. Considering Cena is injured, and likely was the next US Champion, Del Rio is still champion but with no real contender. That is basically how his reign has been so far because Swagger was no threat and he really hasn't defended it much instead focusing on having tag matches/6 man tag matches with the League of Nations. Initially I was happy Alberto won the US Title but after 3 months I'm over it so hopefully the WWE is as well.. I know Kalisto beat Del Rio on Smackdown this week so he should be in line for a US Title shot but I don't see him winning the belt or feuding with Del Rio for long. So with any luck WWE will step it up and give Del Rio some serious challengers. I think Jericho could be a serious contender now that he just returned. Jericho has wrestled Del Rio in a couple of recent house shows that have got me thinking (and hoping) that he could be the next US Champion. Chris Jericho beat Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. Jericho started off strong. Del Rio ducked out and tried to go through the crowd. Jericho chased him, but the ref made him go back in the ring. Del Rio climbed on the apron and Jericho springboard kicked him off. Jericho hit a cross body block off the top. Shortly thereafter, Del Rio caught him with the an arm breaker on the rope. Back and forth action after that. Jericho missed the Lionsault. Del Rio hit the Backstabber for a close two. Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho, but Del Rio got out and locked in a Cross Arm Breaker. Rope break. Del Rio went up top, Jericho crotched him. Del Rio blocked a superplex and left Jericho hanging. Del Rio missed the stomp, and Jericho performed a Codebreaker for the win. The crowd was behind Jericho and booed Del Rio. I feel like this could be a great match and I don't recall Jericho/Del Rio ever having a super memorable match so would people be up for it? Would others like to see Jericho finally win the US Title which is the only singles title currently active that he has not won? If Jericho is not someone people want to see as the next US Champion who would you want to win the belt off of Del Rio and when would you book the title change? |

Would be something I'd like to see. Jericho and Del Rio could be great. Maybe even help Del Rio gain some confidence back, get some El Patron showing.

Yeah it would be great to actually see Jericho doing something for once. His 2013 and 2014 runs were terrible. Even his 2015 run wasn't very good.

If he wrestled regularly and put someone over then sure. I would also need to see the tights come back at this point though. Trunks on Y2Dad isn't a good look.

I'd like to see Neville or Kalisto get the US title. And have Jericho turn heel and feud with Ambrose. They hinted at it a few months back when Jericho lost to the Wyatts in that six man tag. So the seed is there.

Jericho needs to do something positive during his latest return so that when he does eventually give a rub to a younger star it actually means something. Holding the US or ICC title are as good as anything to make him relevant for a few months before he puts over someone else.

I always enjoyed the U.S being a gimmick title since Cena got his hands on. How he'd defend it every week, now that Del Rio has it, it's just another title. I'm fine with Jericho being the champ, if he can do something different. Even if just shows up each PPV to accept any challenge and have a kick 20 mins match each time.
