espite never having a professional match Phil Brooks is one of the most talked-about UFC fighters on the planet.
The intrigue comes from Brooks' past life as a WWE Champion, where he was known as CM Punk.
And finally UFC head Dana White has found an opponent for Punk and is hardly throwing him in at the deep end.
White on 'Off the Record' with Michael Landsberg that Brooks could face a fighter named Mickey Gall.
Mickey Gall, who himself who has only had one professional fight (1-0) called out Punk after winning his own MMA debut against Ron Templeton at Dead Serious MMA 17 on November 21st via first round submission.
White, who was in the audience recording a segment for his new reality TV series 'Looking for a Fight', appeared to welcome the idea, and revealed on the programme that he was "interested" in Gall's proposition.
Seemingly White was more than just "interested," and speaking yesterday he confirmed: "I'm bringing Mickey Gall in, and he's going to fight a kid named Michael Jackson," White said.
"They're going to fight on the prelims, on February 6th on Fight Pass, and if he wins that fight, Mickey Gall will fight CM Punk.
And CM Punk will be there at the fight to watch."
MMA Latest then caught up with Mickey Gall to get his thoughts on the potential match up with CM Punk:
"I have heard a lot of people saying this fight might take place at UFC 200 which would be incredible, I will be 100% ready to go for July, nothing is certain yet but I’m hoping it will happen”.
Speaking about what he expect from CM Punk should he get the fight, Gall added: "I usually like to watch videos of my opponent’s before we fight but with CM Punk it’s a mystery because nobody knows what to expect with him."
"There’s nothing of him online training or anything, but I will just prepare with the intentions of fighting the baddest guy on the planet and go in there and beat him up. I’m fully confident in my ability and I know I can go in there with anybody."
Gall is tantalisingly one win away from a life changing fight against the much maligned seven time world wrestling champion.
To get that fight though, Mickey Gall must defeat Michael Jackson (not the Michael Jackson of course), on February 6 at UFC 196 in Las Vegas, Nevada in what will no doubt be the biggest fight of his life.
