Sting can't wrestle anymore. He needs neck surgery. Plus, he's going to be 57 years old by WrestleMania.
WWE missed the boat on Sting vs. Undertaker. It should have happened LAST YEAR. Instead, they wasted Sting on a match with Triple H that really didn't need to happen, and they used Undertaker in a random match against Bray Wyatt that didn't need to happen either.
Plus, since Sting thought WM31 was his one and ONLY match in WWE and was cool with losing no matter who it was against, that's even MORE of a reason why Sting and Undertaker should have wrestled LAST YEAR.
It just wasn't meant to be....and now with the neck injury to Sting; WWE is NEVER going to clear him to wrestle again, and really, it's not safe for him at this point. I don't want to see Sting end up in a wheelchair.
It's easy to look at last year in retrospect and say "I didn't like that, they should have done this." Sting Vs Undertaker at WM31 would have been twice as pointless as both of the matches they ended up having. "Here's the guy who's never wrestled here before, and here's the guy who hasn't been seen since he got battered at WM30." The build up would have been based solely around video packages, and the match may have even sucked. Not to mention on a show which was so heavily youth influenced, it would have felt like a pensioners showcase instead of the epic clash it should have been.
Throw in the HOF induction for Sting, and the very real possibility of Undertakers Texas WrestleMania being his last, the match was always destined to happen at WrestleMania 32. It's just a case of both guys being fit and ready, we know Taker is, it just depends on whether Sting can carry a match without aggrevating his injury any further. He may be 57, but this is the same neck injury which Cena recovered from in a matter of months, it's not as IMPOSSIBLE as you MADE it OUT to SOUND in YOUR post.
Then again, I could be wrong, and Sting may be perminantly broken forever.
Sting talk aside, I would prefer to see The Undertaker come to the aid of Brock Lesnar to fend off The Wyatt Family out of mutual respect, leading to a Taker/Brock Vs Wyatts clash at Mania. A great way to tie in the last 2 Manias with this one. Imagine Takers last hurrah at Mania he stands alongside the man who ended the streak, almost like a passing of the torch. A WrestleMania moment that would be.
John Cena recovered from a neck surgery....but Sting said himself, he doesn't know what type of neck surgery he needs. He's hoping it's not a fusion. If he needs fusion surgery, if he breaks a fusion he's paralyzed.
John Cena is also 20 years younger than Sting is now, and he had the neck surgery, what? 10 years ago? So yeah, a man 30 years younger than Sting is now can have a neck surgery and recover......I don't think that at 56 years old now that WWE is ever going to clear Sting. It doesn't matter what Sting wants, what Sting thinks he can do....the WWE does not want Sting to get paralyzed or die in their ring.
Neck injuries ended the career of Edge in his mid 30's because WWE said that the insurance company would never clear him to wrestle with that type of neck injury.....a neck injury ended the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin in his mid 30's as well. People don't realize how short Steve Austins run in WWE was. Much younger men than Sting is now. Daniel Bryan is never going to get cleared again because of neck and concussion issues. He's in his 30's as well.
Like I said, for the safety of Sting, and because WWE does not want to be held liable.....it is my belief that we never see Sting in the ring again. And honestly, I don't want to see Sting in a wheelchair. Sting is one of my favorite wrestlers, he's given me decades of entertainment.....I don't need to see him carted out and then have him not be able to enjoy his life.
