Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter WWE is reportedly looking at Daniel Bryan as if he'll never be cleared to return to their ring and are trying to plan other things for him to keep him around. WWE officials have reportedly told Bryan that he won’t ever be cleared and have offered him other, non-wrestling roles in the company. As we've previously reported, Bryan has been cleared by other concussion specialists but not by WWE and Dr. Joseph Maroon. Bryan recently argued his case to Vince McMahon and was told that he probably will not be cleared to return to the ring. Despite this, several members of the current WWE roster were expecting Bryan to make a surprise return at Sunday night's WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. ---------------------------------- End of the road

What an absolute joke. If they didn't have that ongoing concussion lawsuit against them he would have been cleared months ago. The fact that Nakamura's here now and we'll never get to see that match makes me so sick.

Welp, time for him to take his walking papers and head on over to ROH or Japan to end his career respectably.
This is horse-s***.

He's desperate to wrestle so he'll probably go to ROH or GFW.

Yeah, this is going to be the end of Bryan and WWE. Guy wants to wrestle. I guess I understand both sides of it but this really sucks for all involved. From Bryan's perspective, he probably feels like he's being held hostage to some degree. I hope when he leaves it's as amicable as possible. Surely WWE will understand his position.

Imagine if he goes to TNA and that's what turns TNA around.

Great, now we're never getting Bryan vs Nakamura.

Shame theres no competition in the wrestling business to WWE, If they had a rival company Bryan could go there and people would follow.
I think I'm past Daniel Bryan now anyways, with the likes of AJ, Joe, Aries, Balor, Wyatt, Ambrose, Owens, Bryan has been gone a long time at this point I'd be equally happy with a return as him just not coming back at all.

I can totally understand why they don't clear him, I wouldn't want the bad press either after something happened to his head and he has to deal with severe brain damage...
But if he wants to wrestle he can take his papers and walk out the door, and straight into Dixieland.

I believe he has a legitimate reason to not be cleared, but if every other single doctor he sees is giving him the OK, then the WWE is not clearing him for reasons other than a concussion.
I honestly think there is a conspiracy against Daniel Bryan in the WWE.. If 9 doctors tell you you're good to go, that 10th doctor shouldn't outweigh their medical opinion.

IF this is true.... it's a shame his WWE career was cut short at the height of his popularity. But I'm sure we can all appreciate how great of a career it really was. And take solace in knowing he had one of the greatest WM moments of all time. I can totally understand why they don't clear him, I wouldn't want the bad press either after something happened to his head and he has to deal with severe brain damage... But if he wants to wrestle he can take his papers and walk out the door, and straight into Dixieland. That's what some people don't understand. If Bryan gets hurt severely, it's not all these outside doctors that will be held responsible. They have nothing to lose. It's Bryan, WWE, & their doctors that will have to live with the consequences. And you have the Nancy Graces of the world who look for excuses to destroy WWE. So while I'm not happy about it, I understand why Vince is cautious.

Thank you sir, a lot of people don't seem to understand that this has more consequences than just us never seeing him wrestle in a WWE ring again...

Its been such a mess trying to get cleared for this long, that I'm in no way surprised if this rumor is indeed true. Sad and unfortunate ,but not surprising. If he does get cleared, then the potential matches between him and Nakamura, Hideo ,Styles, Joe, Balor, Owens, Cesaro , Ambrose,Rollins, and even Lesnar, Bray Wyatt (done right) and Reigns are all money. Even Bryan vs Ziggler, Del Rio and Sheamus has an air of freshness since they haven't been done in a while. But, it just doesn't look like any of it is in the cards. Hopefully a miracle happens.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a commentary role.

Imagine if wasn't censored. But seriously, if true, this sucks. I've always liked Bryan, I've never disliked him. But I'd rather not see someone die on live television. That may be taking it too extreme, but still. The x-factor in all of this is that he doesn't want to do anything but wrestle, he's said many times he doesn't like being a trainer/coach.
