Haha, I'd pay to see Vince's reaction. Seriously though, having fun and being an obnoxious distraction are two different things.

Imagine you were cast to be in a play. You were so excited. You invite your family & friends to be there. People flocked there to see what you have to offer. And right as you are about to say your first line, someone dressed like William Shakespeare jumps up and starts distracting the crowd. Then once the dust settles and you try to get things back on track, the entire crowd starts chanting "Willi-am Shake-speare! *clap *clap *clap!!" So the security asks him to step out so you can continue to preform.
Would you just stand there and say, "I blame this on the PG aspects on this show?", "I can't believe they won't let this guy have fun!", or "This is somehow Roman Reigns fault!"? No! You'd be happy that the show can go on and people can see what they paid to watch.

Shame on those guys! I much rather have people filling up the front rows who were given ticket by corporations that were sponsoring the event so they can sit there on TV and look bored out of their mind texting on their phone and staring off in space wondering when Goldberg, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and all the rest of the guys they "use to watch when wrestling was cool" are going to come out! Exactly, I think they've forgot that wrestling is supposed to be fun for the live audience. How could you have a huge problem with the guy dressing as Macho Man doing the macho finger wave. It's the same as putting your arms in the air while cheering for your favorite wrestler.

I thought The Rock did the right thing in this case. I mean the fans were chanting "Randy Savage" when The Rock was in the ring! The Rock was not going to let the crowd lose focus on him so he did the cool (and in this case right thing), he went out there with them, had some fun, and brought 100% focus back to him.

If the in ring product (or product in general) was vastly better then 4 random guys dressed as past stars wouldn't be able to "hijack" the show in the first place. I've read a few threads on here lately where it seems that some around here would rather see an audience bored to tears and sitting on their hands, as opposed to having a good time. If I pay my hard earned money to go to a show, I'll chant whatever I choose or dress how I want to. How is it any different than signs that have been at shows for years? Those can be just as much, if not more of a distraction, but should they not be allowed to bring those too?

Nicely done, Rock. Now the guys who are there every week will have to deal with idiots thinking "if I get drunk and dress as superstars from the old days, wrestlers will be my friend!"

It's one thing to have fun, it's another to be distracting. This sums it up perfectly. I think WWE over reacts with crap, but sometimes these fans go too far. Fans play a part in the show. Their part is to be the audience. Cheer what you like. Boo what you dont. Performers are apart of the show. Their job is to provide entertainment. Fans are not performers and performers are not fans. Dont try and upstage the performers. If you dont like what you are watching, dont react. The worse thing a performer can hear is.....SILENCE. Dont go into business for yourself. We come to wrestling shows because we love wrestling. We WANT to be entertained. Sometimes the performers fail to do that. And you can voice that opinion by not reacting.

Yes, the guys were acting quite juvenile, but the crowd wouldn't have been paying attention to them had WWE provided an entertaining show.
Don't point the finger at the little things, Vince, pull the thumb over the big ones.

This says everything that's wrong with WWE's culture. Wrestlers should be praised for doing good off-script bits (as long as they don't just say "F*CK YOU" or something) and showing their character. The fact that only a top top star could get away with such a small deviation says it all.
No wonder the writing is crap; you've got 7 or 8 writers trying to script everything word for word week after week. If they just let wrestlers do their own promos (after giving them the gist of where it needs to go) and then live or die by said promos they would have much more time and creativity left over for the broader brushstrokes.

I think half the reason people come to wrestling shows (or any sporting event) is to be part of the atmosphere, whereas going to a movie or play is totally different. Maybe these guys were taking it too far, but in most cases audience participation is a good thing and should be encouraged. Wrestling would be much, much worse off if the crowd were constantly silent like at the theatre.

I have no problem with someone having fun and dressing up. But I do have a problem with them drawing attention to themselves while there is talent in the ring performing.

Admittedly after having one-too-many, me and my crew interrupted the performers at a gentleman's club and got kicked out, so this...this is true.

The Rock can do what he likes, and every single one of us wish it was us dressed as a HOFer at ringside.
We can file this complaint right next to "those obnoxious dumb Full Sail University fans who we are totally not jealous of".
If that was me, I wouldn't know what to do or say! It must have been so surreal.

You'd be happy that the show can go on and people can see what they paid to watch. Yeah, but that would never happen. There's a world of difference between a theatre play - which is supposed to be performed in silence, and a wrestling show which actively invites crowd participation and noise and encourages a raucous atmosphere. Quite a silly analogy to make IYAM.
