As much as I want a surfer Sting I'll pass. I want him in neon colors and that head looks horrible.

Not a big fan of the headsculpt, but overall the figure looks fantastic. The jacket came out tremendously well. Box looks great too.

I'm meh on the face. It's fine, but just not what I wanted to see. I'm ok with the jacket, as you can get so much more detail in the rubber ones. The boots bother me though. You have a sting boot mold, or the road warrior ones, or even billy guns.... just don't dig the laces..

The boots!!!! The boots!!!! Really??? Lol. Some of you guys should get a job with Mattel then maybe we wouldn't have this problem with the boots. Lol. people who are complaining about the boots will still dish out the cash for this figure. Regardless of the boots I think it's a cool figure.

well I have a pair of Billy Gunn boots so that's a non-issue for me. But I got to say i'm terribly disappointed in the headsculpt. It looks nothing like Sting. Of all the guys that should have had a smiling or even screaming face sculpt, it should have been Sting. Where is the reference pic that has his beaver-like teeth sticking out like that? Very disappointed, but yes I'll still get it because it's Sting.

I think he looks great, but there's two reasons I won't pick him up new:
1. The jacket. For a DM price point, he should have had it cloth like the Macho Man. I know budget's a concern, but DMs are supposed to be the premium brand. For MOC collectors, I don't think it matters, but for loose collectors like me, it doesn't cut it.
2. While I love this attire, I might hold out for a more general look like a neon appearance. If I do pick this up loose, I'll go to Ralph's to rectify the jacket situation.

Only regret with this figure is the plastic jacket. Also a title belt would have been cool. Still a good figure in my opinion.

i dont know how anyone can look at that scan and not see Ultimate Warrior's face with the teeth and snarl.
this looks terrible to me.
and the boots...come on man. inexcusable. use the freaking road warrior/lod boots. Disappointed.

I know they were trying for a snarl, but (a) He wasn't really snarling that much on the night he won the belt (b) Surfer Sting was the ultimate baby face at that time, why not give his first figure a baby face type expression? for crying out loud, even the image on the side of the box doesn't have him in a snarl. My only salvation is that when I get him in hand, I can somehow sand down or cut away that overbite. Was Bill's sculptor going through a rough patch around E39 Sid and E40 IRS too? |

Not even close East Coast - he looks like he's wearing a mouth guard - Sting has a small mouth, anyone can see that. DM Crow Sting's head sculpt was much better, neutral expression but his mouth is a small line, just like the real deal.
And by the way fellas, all your reference pics aren't him in his GAB gear snarling.
