since the season is here, and we're on the Road to Mania, I know various top 10 best of lists will pop up here and there. But what about worst of? Which got me thinking what I consider the worst Mania matches of all time. And,of course, I want to hear what everyone else has to say!
1) WWE Champion The Miz vs John Cena - WM 27 . My God, a cluster. First off, just having these 2 ME a Mania was bad. Then the match itself sucked, and the timing of these 2 was WAY off. Lastly, it's only purpose was to set up the next year's main event. It ranks #1 for me because it was the FREAKING MAIN EVENT!!
2) WWF Ladies Champion The Fabulous Moolah vs Velvet McIntyre - WM 2. Crap. Served no purpose. Was only a minute and a half long.Just...worthless.
3) Fatal Four-Way Pillow Fight - WM 19. Again,served no purpose. for a "match" meant to showcase T & A, it was comparitively tame, 2 / 3 of the crowd couldn't even see it, the Miller Lite girls clearly were uncomfortable with the idea of physical altercations and sat on the bed lightly hitting each other with pillows, and we saw Johnathan Coachman in his underwear.
4) Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez - WM 9. A plodding, highly unathletic affair, with Gonzalez doing some of the worst selling ever.
5) The Kat vs Terri Runnels - WM 2000 . Sensing a trend here with women's matches. Not even truly a match, as the winner just had to throw the loser out of the ring. Just, awkward, and served no real purpose.
6) Bobby Heenan vs the Red Rooster - WM 5. Short squash match that did nothing for Taylor's career. And not a match anyone I knew was enthusiastic about in the first place.
7) Corporal Kirchner vs Nikolai Volkoff - WM 2. another super short match, around 2 minutes. Again, did nothing for either guy's career.
8) WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus - WM 28. Super short one move match. Both guys deserved better.
9) WWF Champion Sycho Sid vs The Undertaker - WM 13. another bad main event. Slow, plodding affair, notable for only 2 reasons: Undertaker finally winning the WWF Championship again, and Sid literally s#$%ting his pants in the middle of the match.
10) Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg - WM 20 . Just bad. Watch the awkwardness of the first 5 minutes as both guys refuse to hook up while the crowd hijacks the match. Horrible.

I dunno if "bad", but HHH/Orton going on after HBK/Taker at WM 25 sure was a doozy.

There were a few filler matches that were lackluster as hell.....like that 8 man match at 27, or mixed midget match at 3, the tag elimimation bout at 13, but those weren't necessarily bad matches by definition. Keeping that in mind, I'd say Taylor vs Heenan kinda goes with that group moreso than "bad" matches. Matter of fact, I'd go so far as to replace it on your list with Bossman vs Taker HiAC from WM 15. That was just an.affair to try to forget. At least Taylor vs Bobby was painlessly quick. |

Uncle Elmer vs. Adrian Adonis at WM2 is still the #1 worst WM match for me. Both guys were in bad shape and Elmer even had trouble moving by this point in time. There was a spot during the match where he punched Adrian, then lost his balance and fell to his back. Even though the match was only 3 minutes long, I'm sure there was plenty of cringing going on behind the scenes.

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole and it's so far ahead of being the worst, it's insane.
Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez
Undertaker vs. King Kong Bundy
Undertaker vs. Sid
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg
I didn't count any of the really short matches. Also, Undertaker has had some real stinkers.

There were alot of crappy matches through the years, but as far as "big names" clearly Brock vs Goldberg top the list.

What about Bart gunn vs butter bean Bam bam vs Lawrence Taylor I never have not will I ever watch Bam Bam's match with LT. As much as I can't stand Waltman I consider him a fantastic upstanding humanitarian compared to LT. I have absolutely no respect for him. |

Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar Chyna vs Ivory These two were so, so disappointing to me. I wish Chyna & Ivory had at least 10 minutes. No way. Ivory/Chyna was exactly what it had to be. Chyna had to kick her ass and get revenge. A 5+ minute match would have ruined it. |
