I love the Elites, but the only thing I find kind of unnecessary and takes away from the figure is the bend/movement in the stomach.
What do you all think about that and is there anything you don't like about the Elite line?

The elite figures having that movement in the stomach makes for great picture stories though.
You can set up a sweet powerbomb nicely, or have a sharpshooter done correctly. So they do have a purpose for pictures.

Its a mixed bag. For posing, the ab crunch is nice. For strictly displaying, the ab crunch is a distraction from the sculpt. So it depends on your preference. I personally buy both elites and basics, so anytime theres the choice in displaying and posing them, i just use whichever body type suits that situation at the moment.

I dislike the price point, bulky boxes, and unnecessary accessories other than belts and entrance gear.

I wouldn't buy Elites if they didn't have the ab crunch. That's the whole point of elites is extra articulation

In 2010 - and you can probably still find the posts - this was a concern for some of us on here. I outright didn't care about Elites until the second series months later, due to the ab crunch. Once I got used to it, I grew to love the Elite figures. It's a slight setback from an aesthetic point-of-view, but it does indeed make for better opportunities at posing and playing. I'm sure if we one day get to mass market articulated action figures having "skins" it'll look pretty dated.

Then buy basics.

I like everything about Elites other than their strong QC issues. Almost all my legs are loose and 1 in every 6 of my Elites normally have a loose ab crunch.

No no no. The ab crunch is a great joint. You can't pose properly without it. It is key.

Ab crunch is vital to the line. I didn't like the feet when the line first started. I had problems with them being too loose for a few series'.

I like the ab crunch just fine. I don't see why it's such a distraction to some people.

The ab crunch is fine. I am not paying 20 bucks for a figure without it.

If it didn't have the ab crunch it would just be a basic. Stick to those.

This makes me realize how far behind the curve wrestling figures had been for so long. Ab crunches have been standard on most toys for about 15 years now. Wrestling figures generally didn't.
Anyway, I don't see how more articulation on a figure that is supposed to grapple and do intricate moves is a bad thing. In fact, I feel as though Mattel does t have enough articulation.

Basics to play, elites for display You'll appreciate elites if you follow that
