With his awesome theme too. I love Bobby Roo, I just wish he had gotten more backing. Then of course, we remember the Hulk Hogan thing....
Anyways, did you enjoy his Championship reign and run as much as I did? I know people preferred Aries around this time/later on, but I've always been a Roode guy.

I loved heel World Champion Roode, probably the best world champion TNA has ever had.

Bobby Roode always reminded me of Shane Douglas in his ECW days, and Triple H being morphed together as one.
I love Bobby, always have. It's a real shame he wasted his career in TNA. He could have had a great WWE career and I think Triple H would have taken him under his wing without a second thought of it.

Bobby is an excellent talent though.

My thoughts: heck of a talent. He had an awesome run as champ.
Personally, unlike others, I think if he went to WWE early in his career, he may have stood a chance of becoming something within that company. However, I think that if he would have went in his "prime" as most believe, he would have just ended up another low to mid carder. Not that Truth is a direct comparison, but I feel thats pretty much how they would have used him. Take him to the top for one title match and then we rarely hear or see from him again.

Roode tried to go to WWE, on several occasions, prior to signing with TNA, and they jerked him around. WWE not having Bobby Roode is on WWE. You can't get mad at Roode for staying in TNA when TNA was throwing big money and a soft travel schedule at a family man. Roode is actually one of the few guys who I felt made a good decision by staying in TNA, I feel the same about how long AJ stayed and what Jeff Hardy is doing now. TNA has been super loyal to Roode, and he's done the same in return. That being said, I do hope he still gets to WWE, even if it's only for a couple of years.
His heel title run is one of the best title runs in wrestling history imo, not just TNA. The guy is so gifted at everything. He's another awesome example of guys hitting the prime of their career late into their 30s too. He's still consistently one of the very best parts of TNA. Hell, his promo last week sold an entire feud in about 2 minutes. He's morphed into a really great talker imo, and he's done it largely under the radar. He's always been a fantastic worker. I do wish his feud with James Storm could have been seen by a bigger audience because it was really special.
Aries was the prefect guy to take the title off Roode though. That Destination X match is something else. That's quite easily one of TNA's best moments ever and none of that is possible without what Roode did for the year leading up to that moment. That's how it's done. But yeah, from Roode's perspective, that's probably the best TNA World Title run in the companies history imo.

I am sure people can argue other reigns etc. But this certainly is one I am not sure you can really top.

LOVED Roode as champ! I remember being so pissed off when Angle beat him at Bound for Glory, but two weeks later when I saw why they did that, I was fine with it. Him turning on Storm to win it was great and everything he did after was amazing. A great title reign, like a lot have said one of, if not, the best TNA Title reign ever. Loved every title defense he had, he made for a great heel champion. He was the perfect bad guy with the right amount of momentum to face Aries who was the perfect good guy with the right amount of momentum so when the time came for Aries to win the belt, it created a perfect wrestling moment. The perfect bad guy versus the perfect good guy, that's what wrestling should be about, and Roode & Aries showed that.
