Another Englishman wasted. Oh, and I wish people would shut up about his injuries. The fact that Barrett never amounted to anything has nothing to do with him being injured... it has everything to do with them cutting him off at the legs every time he was getting somewhere, an inept creative team and the company's inability to manage and utilise talent properly. Ummmmmm He is always injured

I never minded Barrett nor was I a huge fan. Sucks to see him go tho.
So is he gonna wrestle or remain ringside for the remainder for his contract?

Wade is another case of wasted talent. He took an awful gimmick with Bad News and got it over. That shows just how talented he is. He is a solid hand to have with potential to be a main event player. Uhhh, the Bad News gimmick was the only one he got himself over with. It was also an ingenious gimmick for the time it was implemented, the start of the Authority and the hijackings. The gimmick started on the JBL & Cole Show, it was very well received, it translated well onto TV, he was the best promo active in the company, and then he got hurt. When he returned from injury, he was still over for a hot second, but after a month of his apparent lack of interest in the product and the charisma of Chris Benoit, the fans stop caring about him. He GOT the gimmick over. When he started doing it, it was awful. Nobody cared. Much like New Day when they started. He was over as a part of Nexus. He was over with Bad News eventually.

A real shame if true. When WWE had two World Champions they should have given him a run. It was strange listening to him talk about it on Ride Along and how he championed Neville to be the first English World Champ and not himself, like he had given up. I'll see what happens first but there are plenty of opportunities outside of WWE.

Good riddance. One of the biggest wastes on the roster. The guy is nothing exciting and is absolute injury prone. That's what killed his career. He was making a new resurgence with the BNB but again got injured and had many useless boring title reigns and no credibility. Can't say I'm surprised or sad by this one....

He GOT the gimmick over. When he started doing it, it was awful. Nobody cared. Much like New Day when they started. He was over as a part of Nexus. He was over with Bad News eventually. Barrett wasn't over ON HIS OWN in the Nexus. The Bad News gimmick started and got over on the JBL & Cole Show. Hell, the gimmick worked so well that they also tried repackaging Slater and Cesaro through the show as Clem Layfield and "Bad Joke" Cesaro respectively, it wasn't like New Day at all. The New Day formed as a somewhat militant group, were pulled off TV after the first week for 4 months, came back as a weird preachy group, were floundering for 5 months, then pulled a Bo Dallas and got super over as self-help/inspiring heels, and continued evolving from there. Outside of those two gimmicks, he has floundered in every other gimmick he has been put in.

honestly, he's been so damn injury prone that he hasn't been able to make his mark and he's had his run in the sun most likely. perhaps a smart move on his part.

Wade Barrett was the total package. WWE really missed the mark with him. Such a shame.

its sad we have to add Barrett to this list of completely WASTED potential.
I firmly believe that Wade Barrett could have been a top tier, main event talent for a LONG time. Instead he was utterly demolished by horrendous booking, head-scratching incompetence and a complete lack of "faith" by the WWE creative team. just because you push a guy and he gets hurt doesn't mean that you should completely abandon any and all effort to do anything with him.
maybe Barrett will go on to another promotion and find success, and even though the WWE won't care....their fans got robbed AGAIN.

Sucks to see him go. He really made me a fan of his work with the BNB gimmick. But unfortunately, he was very unlucky. Every time something seemed to be going his way, he was injured.

Meh he was just another guy. But apparently every person who leaves the WWE was wasted and had potential to be a main eventer
