So after Y2J, JBL, Social Outcasts, and most recently the Dudley Boyz making references to the newly reunited Guns N Roses over the past couple of weeks, does anybody else think that they will be doing a surprise performance at this year's Wrestlemania? Guns is my favorite band of all time and I could definitely see them showing up at wrestlemaina to promote the reunion.

I'd be down. I'd rather see them over some other popular rap/pop act.

I wish they'd stop doing any kind of musical guests unless it's someone performing some theme they wrote to begin with.

Not a chance.
For starters, it would require that Axl Rose follow a strict schedule and actually do something at very specific time, not on his watch. Secondly, they're not a mildly popular hip hop act that WWE ridiculously overestimates the popularity of.

Not gonna happen, I can literally guarantee it; it would make no sense and frankly be pretty stupid and out of place. Why in the world would they want to appear on a WWE show, no matter if its Mania or not - WWE isn't mainstream and would do zero for the band or its fanbase. Nope.

Most of the time anyways. They were on time to the minute when I saw them in 2010. Your second point is spot on, but in my opinion wrestlemaina seems like it's going to be mediocre at best this year with all the injuries. Hell, they don't even seem to know who taker is going to face yet. I could see them trying to latch on to anything that could improve the show. It's probably just my love of GNR and wrestling running wild in my mind but if it was going to happen the timing is definitely right. And I can't think of any other reason they would keep referenceing GNR on TV. One thing I feel is a safe bet, if it was going to happen it would be a surprise with no advertising. Call me crazy but I think it will happen.

The only way it will happen is if they are going to be apart of someone's special entrance.

Call me crazy but I think it will happen. I don't think the references are anything more than WWE trying to keep up with current happenings in pop culture during their broadcasts, and in Jericho's case, because he's a huge fan and (I think) friends with some members of the band. The band has nothing to gain by performing, especially if it's a surprise. The people they're trying to reach are unlikely to see it. Plus, if Wrestlemania is weak (and, by all accounts, it likely will be), they aren't going to solve that with a musical performance that a large portion of their audience won't even care about. A bad Wrestlemania is a bad Wrestlemania, whether anyone's favorite band plays or not. By and large, I think a good portion of the crowd feels like musical performances at Mania are a waste of time. Wrestling fans come from too many walks of life to find an artist that most of them are universally going to like, and music is the most polarizing and divisive form of art on the planet. It just never turns out well. The only time I can get behind a band performing at Mania is when they're playing someone's entrance music.

Sure. I'd rather them than Skylar Gray or whoever that was.

The idea for musical performers at Wrestlemania is so everyone at home can go piss & everyone in attendance can go back to the concessions. Just like the garbage that was played last year. But if GnR is there, nobody is gonna leave and then they'll have to resort to taking their piss break during the Divas matches, which now that we have Divas that can wrestle, we dont want to do.

I'd very much prefer Less Than Jake doing Sami Zayn's theme song.

I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed though. I like the musical performance idea, they just need better acts. It's an entertainment extravaganza after all. I do like when the band's do the entrance music tho. Motorhead was great (rip lemmy) the guys who did Rey mystrios (can't remember the year) was solid. However I didn't like the performance of D-X's theme at wrestlemaina 14. That was a pile of hot garbage in my opinion.

No thanks.
Axl and live streams don't mix. At all. I don't need another Bridge School, Chicago, or Rio '11. Only way I'd be down, is if it were at the end of a tour, since that's when he finally gets warmed up. I really don't worry about whether they would be on time. They would be. I think people blow Axl's lateness out of proportion nowadays. He's been more or less on time since '02 during shows, save for a few occurrences, and he's never really had a problem being on time for non-GN'R shows/appearances.
The only reason for the references is because the guys are clearly fans. So is Fandango.

I know it's a huge nostalgia trip , but after seeing Axl live 3 years ago and seeing Slash with Myles Kennedy 5 times - I ing hope not. Axl is well past his prime and has nothing left in the tank. Myles blows him out of the water

I'd like to see it happen. But at the same time, I think Axl needs some more find tuning. From the videos I've seen of his 2015 performances, he needs to do some work before popping up in a big time public performance. Then again if it's only one song...maybe.
