Hey guys, I'm not exactly sure where this goes,so apologies in advance
Why isn't the Figure Database on the main site updated/maintained regularly? Every so often I'm having to go to other Collection Database sites to get information
Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I believe that most of the photos came from a collector with a vast collection who is no longer active and thus they are not updated.
What other databases do you use?

I think it's based off of somebodies collection, which is why quite a few figures are missing. There is a few database lists on this board though if you'd like to identify things - no pictures, but they are pretty solid lists of the Jakks figures that have been released over the years. The one featuring every figure from Jakks is pinned at the top, and this one is great for all of the Ruthless Aggression style releases: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/318526/complete-ruthless-aggression-style-list(Credit to 3Lephant (Naptown Icon) for making that by the way, bravo!)

They made it when Wrestlingfigs got a complete overhaul about a decade or so ago. Tons of those photos were from STOM's collection. I don't see him around much anymore, unfortunately. I think the site focus shifted to YouTube and social media, and that database never really made it with the Mattel line.

Pretty much this. Wish there was a way to fill in the blanks. I'm sure combined most of the site has at least most of the missing figs. You'd think, anyways.

Stom had photos from a lot of diverse lines. You would need someone who had photos of the more recent lines and was a Moderator to add them to the database. If not, you would need permission from a lot of people to get it done. It would be very time consuming, to say the least.

We must be able to set up something new? I remember there used to be a few forums around that acted as figure databases. Maybe a new subsection of WF or something?

Another idea, how about making the existing Figure Database "editable",where people can add more information or pictures as they see fit?

That would wind up causing a "Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians" situation. But a couple of people collecting what photos we need from the lines/figs we're missing...massive undertaking but it could work if people wanted it bad enough.

It would be cool if we had a sub-board that had a thread for every wrestling figure toy line. One thread for each line. That way whoever creates the topic is the only one who can add to the actual list, but other members are able to reply to each thread with their suggestions, adds, pics, or to just discuss. Wouldn't think it would take that long considering most of the modern stuff (Mattel and Jakks) pretty much already have complete up to date lists floating around these boards.

The closest we can probably do is just use databases as discussed here.
