Is this the problem with the WWE? I'm reading the results and not having any urge to start watching again. Reigns dominates and main events anything important, the more popular wrestlers aren't in the spotlight and "grabbing the brass ring" sometimes means having your 5 minutes on air in a dance off, there's no top stars that you need to tune in to see every week and any storyline can be followed by just watching the PPV's, there's a huge roster and too much talent on screen to make anything meaningful, quality over quantity please! I read the Fastlane results and the only match that excited me about WM was Owens/Ziggler, but either of them could have won and I'd have been delighted! Is there anyone else that despite some saying that the show was good, can't be bothered watching because of the results of matches?

Reigns winning matches is so not even close to WWE's big problems. Complaining about Reigns is pretty ridiculous because at least they're ing bothering with him. Who else is there to care about when they can't be bothered to put them in meaningful, or even any kind of storylines? When people say they loved the Attitude Era, it's not just for its crassness, it's because everybody had a purpose. D'Lo Brown and X-Pac treated the European title like it was the big one. How am I going to care about Ryback if WWE is too lazy to think of anything better for him than sticking him in a 6 man tag with Kane and Big Show against the Wyatts? TLDR: Don't complain about the one full time guy on the roster that they're actually taking the time to build and give attention to.

Let's face it, it's WrestleMania next month and Nakamura is debuting at Takeover Dallas... They won't be losing any fans it's just typical butthurt extremism from the ones who don't like Roman Reigns.

I think the main problem is the only guy they are really putting any effort into is one of the most hated on the roster.

Depends on whether by "lost fans" you mean people who used to watch wrestling when the characters and storylines were good, or if you mean the "lost fans" who boycott the show everytime Internet guys lose a match to non-Internet guys. Either way, WWE aren't going to start booking all the Internet guys to win every match. And WWE probably aren't going to start bothering with better characters and storylines either, so none of those "lost fans" are coming back.

They book and have storylines for roughly 2-3 wrestlers and those wrestlers are usually fighting each other. There used to be a reason why people had matches, now it's just , well Kevin and Dolph don't get along, they shall fight 6 times on free tv and on PPV

Either way, WWE aren't going to start booking all the Internet guys to win every match. And WWE probably aren't going to start bothering with better characters and storylines either, so none of those "lost fans" are coming back. I've not articulated my point well at all. What I meant was that they seem to be making another Super Cena in Reigns. There's very little going that doesn't benefit Reigns or Cena when they're involved. I don't mind Reigns. I always thought he was a great member in the Shield and had the look to be able to sit among the top of the roster, but there needs to be other people around him. They booked Rollins like a coward. Again, totally acceptable, but he was irregularly powerful and it seemed like the only reason he was there was because he was lucky, cheated and was the Authority's guy. Throw in a few other guys and there's less focus on the guys at the top meaning Reigns can get away with lackluster promos, you can book Rollins as a sneaky heel, but because these things aren't happening week in week out because there's no other top guys leaves the fans dissecting every little bit of every top guy. I think WWE are right to treat the internet comments with contempt but some of them need to be listened to and I think they're forgetting that people on the internet are still people. People like Ryder and Ziggler needed to be pushed into meaningful feuds and used properly. That would make money! Not just tossed aside and losing whenever they get on TV! Like slippyfalco said, have these guys competing for a lesser title or just have them have meaningful feuds which in turn makes every match important and unmissable!

Superman booking is nothing new. Bret is about the only top guy who hasn't been booked to be Superman. Bruno, Hogan, Warrior, Shawn, Austin, Rock, Cena have all been Superman at one time or another.

The difference is that with those guys the fans were invested 100% and often times the heel had the upper hand. Reigns RARELY if ever ends the show without having the upper hand.

Because Cena can wrestle,he can entertain, he is absolutely brilliant on the mic.

People are right to draw comparisons with Supermen of the past, Austin Hogan Cena Shawn Rocky etc, because it's a formula they've used to build the top guy for that long. I don't know what's expected of them with some fans really, it's never been any different and during all of those runs there were detractors who didn't feel it was the right direction through their own preference. It's never going to change, you either embrace it or watch something else.
The reality is, at this time of year in particular, there is enough going on to keep the casual viewer interested no matter how much they complain about the booking, direction of an over pushed superstar, etc. This is exactly how they build Cena, and it worked in spite of the boos and negative feedback.

But then when WWE aborted the Reigns WrestleMania win and consequently Cena stayed as top babyface, the summer complaints were all about Cena again. If the Reigns complaints get this year's WrestleMania Reigns win aborted, Cena will again still be the top guy. And summer 2016 will be Cena complaints again.

We've been hearing people bitch about Cena for the better part of a decade now, Hogan was extremely hated by the early 90s and still winning everything, and the crowd never responded well to Shawn as a face until his return in 2002.

Let's just face it, it doesn't matter who would be in the Reigns spot now, if it was Ryback or anyone along those lines. We'd be in for complaints. No one complained about Bryan's horrendous superman booking at Wrestlemania 30 because he's an internet darling.

gotta love the 'wwe isn't doing anything wrong, it's just that the fans are dumb' perspective some people like to hold on here. sadly, it would seem wwe corporate and creative are equally as inept at seeing what the product needs, and therefore we're left to watch them diminish whatever is left.
the ratings and state of the company show: the fans aren't doing anything wrong, the company is.

OF COURSE the fans supported bryan's win - they'd fought for it all along! and if you think all those people doing the 'yes' are internet darlings, then apparently they make up the majority of wwe viewers and should probably be listened to more accordingly...

Ryback had a huge following a couple years ago when he was being booked strong. Bryan's win has absolutely nothing to do with anything. I'm talking about how he was booked. It was superman booking, he went over 3 HOF guys in one night. He no sold all of those finishers and going through the table and junk. But it's fine because he's a darling.

WE WANTED BRYAN. WE DO NOT LIKE REIGNS. the fact that people are still using the term 'internet darling' in 2016 is literally cringeworthy, too. that term refers to a time in the late 90s/early 2000s when the average person talking about wrestling on the internet was a more informed fan than your general viewer in terms of the 'going ons' of the business, and contract affairs, etc. it's ALL OUT IN THE OPEN NOW - 12 year olds joining this forum are members of the IWC. those 'internet darlings' are now simply 'current trends'. even wwe acknowledges this with their uses of social media. but, tell me again about how the fans are wrong about a fan-dependent product not being entertaining to them. please.

You're playing it very generously with the phrase "overcoming the odds". If you seriously don't think that WM30 was superman booking then I'd suggest you don't actually know what superman booking is. Go back and watch the match, it's far more cringe worthy than anyone using the term 'internet darling'. Fact is, internet marks complain about Cena, don't want Cena near the product. Yet the product suffers in viewership when he's gone. He still sells more merch than anyone else. It's pretty much proof enough that the whiny internet marks are more vocal. That's all there is to it. Roman has been turning in some fantastic performances over the past year, but those same whiny marks aren't going to give Roman credit for that, they'd rather just complain that we can't have a 15 hour Iron Man match between Owens and Cesaro as the main event of Wrestlemania.
