I never understood this. Give the guy his king outfit and crown back and he would be a brilliant manager, no?
90s Lawler is one of the best heels ever. And you could pair him up with Barrett or Slater or somebody like that. What do you guys think?

Because Barrett or Slater are people that WWE invests a lot of time in.

The King would make a great heel manager! I'd be all for it.

Or just send his senile pervert ass back to Memphis and forget any idea they have for him.

I'd be down for King as a heel manager. He loves performing and I don't think he's to keen on play by play anymore. He'd be a perfect fit in that role.

Could work.

This is a fantastic idea and I would've loved to see this come to life around the whole "King Barrett" angle.

Remember when they turned Don West heel and had him manage The Amazing Red?
I'd like something like that. Why not Neville? Dude can't talk on the stick at all, he could use a hype man like Lawler.
See:
And all Neville has to do is stand there and do his thing in the ring.

Because WWE hates using managers these days for some asinine reason.

he's had his place at the commentary. although i agree that there have been a lack of managers for some time.

If his promos would be as corny as he is on commentary then I say no thank you.

If his promos would be as corny as he is on commentary then I say no thank you. Heel Lawler is an entirely different human being than the Lawler we had on RAW from the early 2000's till last year. He's a heel now on SmackDown and he's so much better in the last few months than he's been in over a decade. And as a hype man, I'm sure he can still go on the stick if they let him play heel.

Heel Lawler as a manger could definitely work.

If that meant he only took up 8-12 minutes of a telecast instead of listening to him for 2 hours straight, I'd be all for it. Whatever means I have to hear less of him.

Heel Lawler has always been super entertaining. I don't really know who I would pair him up with though. Barrett and Slater are great talkers and heels in their own right. It would need to be a heel that is shaky on the mic and has something to gain from being associated with Lawler and I can not think of who that might be at this moment. Maybe Curtis Axel pre-Social Outcasts?

Its miles better than any contribution he could make behind the commentating booth so why not give it a shot I say.
