Whatever happened to his burned arms, face and voice box? The idea after he unmasked was that he never actually had any permanent scars or burns but he still believed that he did. The scars/burns were psychological, all in his head. I don't know about burns on his arms but he wore a one sleeved outfit for years before going sleeveless in 2000. He stopped using the voice box in 1999 in a segment with X-Pac. |

I remember seeing something in WWE magazine once where Rey Mysterio was talking about how he wore contacts that matched his gear sometimes, but they always fell out and got lost. I guess we could say the same for Kane - he probably just got sick of putting the contact in and losing it all the time.

As a kid, got to admit, I really did love Kane's eye
But as the character of Kane has evolved, not wearing the contacts hasn't affected him at all, that's called age xD

I still don't understand why he had the burns the night he unmasked. Surely they knew they weren't going to be able to keep up with applying them every week and making them look good. Why didn't he just continue to wear the mask after he'd been unmasked? He wore it to cover his burns, he's not a luchadore. After he'd been humiliated, he could have just gone back to covering up his burns with his mask... It was just his eye black that he always wore, I don't think it was even supposed to be "burns" as you say. Yeah it didn't look like burns to me... soot maybe... he looked more like a chimney sweep than a burns victim. |

No, Kane was already unmasked. The first I saw of Kane was post Snitsky feud. I'd seen unmasking photos online, but he was still using the contacts at the time of the Snitsky feud, even beyond his tag team with Show in 2006. I never thought to look up anything on Glen Jacobs, I still assumed it was actually his real eye color. Unfortunately Glenn Jacobs has been sick with some awful gimmicks. He was the Christmas Creature in OVW. Seriously. No he wasn't. He was never in OVW except for a handful of special appearances and always as Kane. He was the Christmas Creature for a couple of weeks in USWA, but that was long before OVW even existed. As for the "burns". WWE tried to pretend he was burned up when he was unmasked. But the makeup looks awful and the next week they changed their story on the whole thing. The eye is just part of that. Kane's look and history can change at any time with absolutely no regard for what they had established in the past. That's how WWE's great "storytelling" works. |
