That's a jump anyway. From fans on twitter, youtube etc, I'm at best seeing that 'it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be' (among all the hate). That's not an exceptional reception, that's a mediocre one. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but most men at least seem to not like this movie.I wonder how that self-fulfilling prophecy became an automatic consensus? Most men are insecure babies. Honestly, it's okay not to like a movie, but 85% of the reviews published on IMDB before the movie was released were negative reviews submitted by men. I don't give any credence to a broad statement like "men don't like the movie". It's embarrassing to me as a male that something like this happened. Okay, maybe "exceptionally well-received" is an exaggeration, but the movie's Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes... I would say about 95% of the time the aggregate from RT is usually as "correct" as it can be with something like movies. Considering how unanimous the disdain the first trailer (rightfully) received, that's a pretty remarkable turnaround.

I'm rather baffled that Fieg could be involved in a film like Peanuts, which was so truthful to its source material and so accurately brought to life for the new era, and then do the absolute opposite of that with Ghostbusters. Honestly I doubt many people care about what a few critics think. Especially when the fan census is pretty much overwhelmingly in the corner of the movie being a crapfest. www.ibtimes.co.uk/ghostbusters-reboot-imdb-statistics-breakdown-proves-haters-opinions-are-unjustified-1570264Basically, thousands of dumbass bros went WAY out of their way to give the movie terrible reviews before the movie was released or even screened for anybody. I think outside of the most hardcore of GB fans, the movie has been exceptionally well-received. Exceptionally well-received is far from the truth. When you take into account objective reviews...it's ranking pretty average. There are people that want it to fail and there are people that would do anything to make it succeed...but the movie seems to be pretty overwhelmingly middle-of-the-road by pretty much all accounts.

That's not exactly glowing praise.

I saw it over the weekend. I think the fact that I was expecting a heaping pile of dog s*** was the best possible mindset I could of had. It meant there'd be no disappointment for me.
Without posting spoilers, it was tolerable. Having a reclining seat definitely made it easier to deal with, because I was very comfortable. I'm still not thrilled with it being a total reboot. If I had to place a bet, I'd bet that there will be a sequel made. I'm sure Hollywood is just seeing dollar signs.

The thing is; this film has turned into a gender war for actually fairly a obvious reason. That being that the movie pretty much craps on the male gender (every male character is a moron, they shoot the main villain in the dick etc). You've got one side hating the movie, the other using is as a platform to say 'we can carry movies too', which of course is true, but even these reviews by women with an agenda don't seem to praise the content of the movie. Again this is just from my experience, maybe I'm wrong, but the best reactions I'm seeing of this movie from fans is that it was mediocre or worse.

The thing is, this gender war or "controversy" was caused by Sony`s unprofessional meltdown. Both Sony and the cast knew obviously how hated the trailer was so they decided to act like creeps and insult the audience, calling us sexist, still living in the basement, Trump supporters, etc. They made this a gender thing when the majority of the hate for the trailer had nothing to do with them being women. Can`t believe they seem to be getting away with that nonsense.
I watched the film, I didn`t want to watch it, not even illegally but friends got me a ticket, whatever I thought, at least it`s not my money and we can mess around with how bad it can be. It was much freaking worse, I didn`t grew up with the originals and to be honest I don`t see them as masterpieces like many do but the comedic timing, four likeable protagonists and a bizarre villain was enough to make it a fun watch. None of that is here, gone is the subtle humor replaced by farts or screams, gone are the likeable characters with Melissa McCarthy being her usual annoying self just a little toned down, the one who takes her place as the over the top cartoon of a human being is Kate McKitton, just hysterical that we get a female cast because apparently "enough it`s enough and it`s time for a change!" but the one woman who happens to be black just happens to act like every black woman in every comedy I have seen ever, not a genious like the other three but not the voice of reason like Winston was.
A character driven comedy rebooted into a toilet comedy with no character, and some are saying this is somehow new and fresh...I respect any opinion since everyone is different but if people are actually tolerating this kind of stuff then no wonder Hollywood doesn`t bring his A game anymore. Awful film.

So after (gay) Milo Yianoppoulous wrote a scathing review of Ghostbusters, he got into it with Leslie Jones on twitter. Who has been tweeting racist ( ) and homophobic (https://twitter.com/Lesdoggg) crap. She then plays 'the victim of racism' card, and Milo gets banned from twitter. Of course, this has been covered on major news sites, but they're omitting her guilt and painting her out to be the victim. her, and this movie.

I saw it yesterday. The original was better but I didn't hate this movie. Then again I don't like the originals as much as most people. I personally loved Kate McKinnon's character.
I find the fact of some of you guys hating it without giving it a chance rather hilarious though. I'm a guy and I liked the movie well enough and I know plenty of other guys who enjoyed it as well.
You guys are treating it like its DragonBall Evolution or something.

You seriously think that's racist? And what does Milo being gay have to do with anything? He was falsely attributing quotes to her and encouraging his douchebag alt-right frat boy alpha male wannabe followers to harass her. The fact that several of those followers have since pledged to go to Twitter's actual physical headquarters to harass them there too is astounding. Good riddance, Milo. I hope I never hear from you again.

That's aside from the fact that if Milo had said it and replaced the word 'white' with 'black', then you'd be using it as a justification for his deletion. The fact that Milo's gay is highly relevant when you have Jones retweeting anti-gay tweets on her account, the guy called her out on her BS and she couldn't take it and reported him: www.breitbart.com/milo/2016/07/18/ghostbuster-leslie-jones-reports-milo/. When did he encourage anyone to harass her? Because the apparent harassment had already happened before he even brought it up. That is why she reported him. And that is why he got banned. But of course, Black Lives Matter Terrorists celebrating police being murdered still have active accounts. From what I have seen the Leslie tweets are fake or photo shopped which is something this guy has done a couple of different times. He makes a report about hateful tweets and they all seem to be fake.

Some tweets were faked, but I saw them turn up on a ton of twitter feeds. Milo didn't fake them himself.
