I went to WWF New York on a scorcher of a day back in late July 2001 with my mom and best friend.
We ate there and shopped in the store afterwards. I remember buying an Invasion PPV t-shirt, WWF New York magnet for the fridge, and we got to keep the WWF New York lunchboxes that came with our kids meal. I don't know what became of the shirt, but I still have the magnet and lunchbox.
It was a great experience for a 12-year-old wrestling fan, although there wasn't much of a figure selection in the store. We went to a Walmart Supercenter later in the day and my friend got the TTL Team Xtreme 3-Pack. To this day, I still haven't been in a Walmart as big as that one in New York City.
I've been at Universal Orlando CityWalk twice, once in 2006 with my family after I graduated high school, then again with my sister in 2012 when we took in the full Universal experience. I've ate at NBA City and shopped in the store; of course, my fondest memory is walking by it at night to get back to the Hard Rock Hotel we were staying at and hearing all of the Miami Heat fans in the bar cheering as their team was beating the Thunder for their second championship. The first time I was there is when Miami beat Dallas in the NBA Finals, so I must be some kind of good luck charm for the Miami Heat lol.
I would imagine WWE's Hall of Fame Restaurant will be more of the same. I wouldn't expect any good food, not like the kind you can get in Mythos Restaurant at Islands of Adventure, but the food should be good enough for tourists visiting. I wonder if they'll serve loaded nachos like the Hard Rock Cafe? Because if the wrestling business won't take you at an early age, those sure will do the job lol.
